Get over the vision, now I need Scarlet Witch and Daredevil to be a thing

Notice! This edition contains SPOILERS for Scarlet Witch #5

Marvel’s newest edition Scarlet Witch strongly argues that Wanda Maximoff and Matt Murdock Reckless it should be an ongoing “thing”. In the comics, it’s been some time since Vision and Scarlet Witch were romantically involved on the page. To that end, there are certainly some intriguing vibes that readers will no doubt pick up on between Maximoff and Murdock in this new issue of Marvel Comics.

In Scarlet Witch #5 by Steve Orlando and Lorenzo Tammetta, Wanda Maximoff is fresh off the previous issue’s ominous revelation that the Elder God of Chaos known as Chthon is now free, having been imprisoned within the very Scarlet Witch who managed to free herself during the recent battle of Wanda with the mourner at the end of all things. Now, Scarlet Witch’s magical Last Door has led her into a magical crisis in Hell’s Kitchen. As such, Wanda naturally finds Daredevil who accompanies Scarlet Witch in her investigation into a haunted subway car and its many demon-possessed passengers.

Scarlet Witch and Daredevil join forces in Scarlet Witch #5

Working together, one would think that a street vigilante and a powerful sorceress wielding chaos magic wouldn’t mesh very well. However, this new issue proves that Scarlet Witch and Daredevil should have teamed up a long time ago (and could even explore a new romance in the Marvel Universe).

The chaos in Hell’s Kitchen finally brings Scarlet Witch and Daredevil together

Even Daredevil and Scarlet Witch are surprised they haven’t teamed up more

Scarlet Witch and Daredevil investigate the subway in Scarlet Witch #5

Scarlet Witch and Daredevil eventually deduce that the source of the magical darkness in Hell’s Kitchen is a servant of Chthon known as the Mason, who is celebrating his dark elder’s newfound freedom. Wanting to provide his master with new followers and a church, the Bricklayer is confirmed to be responsible for the demonic possessions and the ghost subway car. Regardless, the red-clad superheroes are more than prepared to face you in this new installment.

Overall, a Daredevil/Scarlet Witch team-up is very rare in the Marvel Universe, and Wanda and Matt confirm that in this new issue.. After all, they usually only work together alongside other heroes, rather than just the two of them alone, as seen in this new adventure below Hell’s Kitchen. To that end, it ends up being a very interesting opportunity for the two to not only interact more than ever, but also complement each other’s skills when encountering the Bricklayer and his victims.

Daredevil and Scarlet Witch actually work really well together

The Witch and the Devil have a lot in common

Aside from their shared color scheme, Daredevil and Scarlet Witch have a few key things in common.. Although they typically operate in different worlds, they both know the importance of learning how to grow from past mistakes and pain. They know they are not perfect and they acknowledge the sins of the past, and they are both working towards continued redemption and being better than the people they were. Likewise, Daredevil also maintains a strong belief in a higher power and the supernatural due to his faith as a devout Catholic.

With that in mind, it’s impressive to see Daredevil defending himself against demon-possessed civilians alongside Scarlet Witch. For example, the battle culminates with Murdock successfully performing a mass exorcism in Latin, while Maximoff faces the Mason directly.. As such, this issue perfectly highlights Wanda and Matt’s complementary strengths. However, the question also alludes to some potential sparks.

There’s some solid flirting between Scarlet Witch and Daredevil

Maximoff/Murdock should be Marvel’s next big romance

Daredevil and Scarlet Witch flirting in Scarlet Witch #5

More than once in new Marvel editions Scarlet WitchDaredevil and Wanda are clearly flirting with each other. Matt Murdock even asks at one point if Wanda is sure they’ve never dated before, making a joke while seemingly communicating a genuine attraction that could (and should) be explored further. Likewise, Scarlet Witch was quite impressed with Daredevil’s abilities during the battle against the demons. Either way, it’s not hard to imagine that the pair would make an excellent couple in the Marvel Universe, considering their similar personalities and great chemistry.
