Genshin Impact 5.3 Leaks Show When and Where Pyro Traveler Unlocks

A new Genshin Impact The 5.3 leak revealed when and where Pyro Traveler will officially unlock for players to control, and the setting is not only familiar, but appears redesigned with a sinister new element. The Pyro version of the Traveler is the first that cannot be automatically unlocked upon reaching a new region. Previously, players only needed to interact with a Statue of the Seven in the region they were visiting and resonate with the element. This didn't work with Pyro Traveler in Genshin Impact since the release of Natlan in version 5.0.

Attempting to do so only generates a message informing players that something is preventing the Traveler from obtaining new Pyro-related elemental powers, which led to speculation that the main character's new kit would be included in the main story missions. It was not known for sure what and how the Traveler would awaken his Pyro abilities, but it was speculated that this would appear near the end of Archon Natlan's Quests.. Furthermore, it was believed that Pyro would somehow be gifted to the Traveler by Mavuika in Genshin Impact – and based on the leaks of the new version 5.3, this could all be correct.

Pyro Traveler unlock timing in Genshin Impact leaked

A leaked image shows the main character with Pyro abilities

The moment the Traveler unlocks his Pyro abilities has reportedly been leaked in a new screenshot from version 5.3. The image was shared in a post on Reddit. The leaked screenshot shows Pyro Traveler talking to Mavuika near a staircase, which is encased in ice. If the leak is true, then the interaction between Mavuika and the Traveler could be vital to unlocking Pyro abilities for the action RPG's main character, even if it's uncertain whether she's the one necessarily granting them. Previous rumors have mentioned that Mavuika will give the Traveler her Pyro Gnosis in Genshin Impact 5.3.

The leak mentions that this interaction will occur at the end of Version 5.3's Archon Quests, meaning that after completing Natlan's story arc, players will finally be able to unlock the Pyro Traveler. This should not occur too early during missions and is will likely be treated as something akin to a reward for aiding Mavuika in her efforts to defend herself from the Abyssal incursion taking place in Pyro Nation.. While all this information is relevant, there are very important details that are hidden in the leaked image of Genshin Impact 5.3.

Leaked Pyro Traveler location in Genshin Impact 5.3 is crucial

The leaked image shows a specific area in Ochkanatlan

Genshin Impact's Traveler plays the Nightwind Horn instrument.

The interaction shown in the leaked image places the Traveler and Mavuika next to a staircase that is already available in the game. In truth, these stairs are located at the top of Ochkanatlan, near the mysterious throne overlooking the region. At this moment there is nothing to do but admire the architectural design of the area, but its grandeur already seems to hide something. An important detail about this location is that while playing with the Traveler near the bottom of the stairs, the elemental colors of his clothes disappear. Genshin Impact.

This does not prevent players from using their Elemental Skills or Blasts, but the shiny parts of the Traveler's clothing, which glow in the color of the element they are aligned to, fade to white. This could be a simple bug that should have been kept hidden, perhaps setting the stage for the interaction seen in the leaked image, where the Traveler's outfit will glow a bright orange and red, reflecting the Pyro's power, or a deliberate teaser of where the Pyro Traveler will finally become playable in Genshin Impact.

Another important aspect of the leak is that the image shows a large amount of ice surrounding the entire staircase and its point of origin is close to the throne at the top of the stairs. This, specifically, is not currently in the game as of version 5.2. As such, there is a chance that an important event will happen in Ochkanatlan that will see this huge wall of ice created around the mysterious location. As shown by speculation in the comments section of the Reddit post, the ice may be directly linked to Capitano in Genshin Impact.

Currently, only two characters in Natlan's story are specialists with Cryo abilities. One of them is Citlali and the other is Capitano. Although Citlali is an experienced character, her prowess in battle remains to be seen, while Capitano is a centuries-old experienced warrior and is the first of the eleven Fatui heralds. Given Capitano's involvement in the fight against the Abyss – going so far as to become Mavuika's ally – speculation is that Capitano will be responsible for finally stopping the Abyssal incursion. in Natlan in Genshin Impact.

Leaks speculate that a gate to the Abyss is hidden within Ochkanatlan, likely near the throne at the top of the region, and that Capitano will help seal it with his immense Cryo abilities at the end of Archon Natlan's Quests. More than that, speculation revolves around the argument that Capitano will exhaust his powers and seal the gate with him as a way of protecting Natlanfurther deepening rumors about Capitano's death in Genshin Impact. This would be a final sacrifice to achieve their ultimate goal.

Furthermore, Capitano has already revealed that despite his immortality, he has been declining over the past few centuries, unlike his fellow Khaenri'ah, Dainsleif. Capitano's powers are diminished from what they originally were and his body is said to be rotten, so seeing him take such action doesn't seem far-fetched. This also coincides with another part of the previous leaks about his death. The rumors showed an audio file mentioning a tombstone of Capitano, which coincides with the theory that he may finally pass away.

Theories about the conclusion of Natlan's story arc seem solid, even if many are based on speculation. Regardless of how it ends, Pyro Traveler should finally be unlocked and allow players to finally use the main character's new abilities. Rumors indicate that Pyro Traveler will be a new off-field sub-DPS and possibly a great replacement for Xiangling, who has held this role since the game's launch. Fortunately, players don't have to wait much longer as Genshin Impact 5.3 is expected to be released on January 1, 2025.
