Game of Thrones Star Emilia Clarke adds a second upcoming TV role in a new spy thriller series titled Ponies. The English actress is best known for her portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen in HBO’s massively popular fantasy series, for which she earned four Emmy nominations. Outside of Game of ThronesShe also starred as Sarah Connor in Terminator GenisysKiera in solo: A Star Wars StoryAnd like in Mervola Secret invasion. Clark also starred in romantic dramas Me for you And Last Christmas.
Now, the Game of Thrones Star has lined up a second upcoming role in a TV series. Per Variety, Clarke is set for a lead role in the spy thriller series, PoniesWhich is ordered straight to series at Peacock. This is her second upcoming lead role in a TV series after Prime Video Criminal.

Story, characters and creative team
Peacock’s upcoming espionage series is Set in Moscow in 1977 and follows two ponies (an acronym for “persons of no interest” in intelligence slang) who work anonymously as secretaries in the American embassy. When their husbands are killed under suspicious circumstances in the USSR, the two C.I.I. Clark will play Bea, a highly-educated Russian-speaking daughter of Soviet immigrants who teams up with Twila, a fearless and outspoken small-town girl. Together, they work to uncover a comprehensive Cold War conspiracy and the truth behind the events that turned them into widows.
Peacock’s Ponies was co-created by Susanna FogelKnown earlier for The flight attendant And The spy who let me downand David Iserson. Fogel is set to direct the series, while Iserson will take on the role of showrunner. In addition to acting, Clark will also serve as an executive producer. Additional executive producers include Jessica Rhoades, Alison Mo Massey and Katherine Bridle.
Ponies is the second television role Clarke has secured in recent months, as she will also star in Prime Video’s Criminal Comic adaptation based on Ed Brubaker’s Eisner Award-winning graphic novel. In the series, Clarke will play Mallory, a quick-witted armed robber in a bunny-and-dress-like relationship. Ponies is also the second espionage thriller Peacock has commissioned this year, with an untitled spy series starring Simu Liu also ordered. with Ponies, CriminalAnd with more series in the works, fans of Clarke and spy thrillers are sure to get plenty in the near future.
