Maisie Williams is potentially reuniting with the Game of Thrones creator. Williams spent nearly a decade as Arya Stark on a show that drew nearly 14 million viewers at its peak. Although Arya Stark sailed west from Westeros at the end of the series, it wasn’t the end of the universe as a whole. There are several other programs in development, including Knight of the Seven Kingdoms spin off, Aegon’s Conquestand Dragon House season 3. Williams could join the next production.
In a personal post It’s not a blog website, author George RR Martin suggested a reunion with Williams. In explaining his visit to London in August, he described meeting her for a meal. He didn’t share what the pair discussed, but did mention that he believes it could result in something that “could be a lot of fun“. Check out his full quote below:
We also met up with Maisie Williams for pizza and pasta and talked about… well, no, better not go into that, I don’t want to jinx. But it could be a lot of fun.
Not necessarily related to Game Of Thrones
It’s only natural that Williams returns to the franchise. After all, she was raised on the show, being just 12 years old when she started filming. Since it ended, she has struggled to maintain a role in the industry. She played roles in only a few productions, but the most prominent was the failed and endlessly postponed The New Mutants film, which grossed just $49 million despite a $67 million budget. A return to Westeros could very well help Williams reignite her career, which would be beneficial for everyone involved.
As anticipated as a new spin-off is, however, it’s not the only potential option. Martin is working on several potential shows and filmsand not everyone relates to your Game of Thrones franchise. He is executive producer of Dark Winds and your vampire story, In lost landsis being adapted into a 2025 film. He’s had a long career as a writer and could easily hire William for another one of his adaptations. Since he knows her acting style, this would be a natural decision.
Our opinion on George RR Martin’s new project
An Arya Stark Show Would Be a Long-Awaited Sequel
As HBO has been exploring many possible spin-offs, an Arya spin-off is a possibility. She was a popular character and her story left ample room to explore Westeros further. It would be a simple opportunity to help fix Season 8’s flaws without wasting too much time frustrated by the deaths of Daenerys or the Night King. On her ship, Arya would be far removed from general politics, as was often the case during the show. Even though it’s not the only option, an Arya Game of Thrones the spin-off would certainly make sense, if Williams agreed.
