It won’t be easy for Lacey to forgive Gabby in Found Season 2
“When you find out that person has been lying to you, and they’re not who they claim to be at all, it’s a loss of identity in some ways.”
Screen Rant: What was your initial reaction when you read the season 1 finale script and discovered the cliffhanger?
Gabrielle Walsh: I was like, “Oh my God, am I going to have a job next year?” [Laughs] But I was very excited. I always look forward to reading the scripts, and so when this came out, I was like, “No way. He’s out. What’s going to happen?” I’m like, “Is he going to get Lacey? Is he just going to mentally torture us?” And it was both. There are a lot of intense twists and turns with him being out.
What would you say was going through Lacey’s head when Gabi first told her the truth about holding Mr. Prisoner?
Gabrielle Walsh: I think it was mostly shock and betrayal. The Man Who Is Your Hero – Lacey looks at Gabby like her sister, of course. They have been so much together, because they were taken together and that she saved. You will see even more about what the relationship is this season – or was – from after they are taken. But there was a lot of shock and betrayal, just disbelief.
I think Lacey knew something was off about Gabi as you saw throughout season 1, like, “What’s going on with you?” She had such an intuitive reading about where her sister was coming from and if something was going on with her, and finding out it was heartbreaking.
Does Lacey blame Gabi for her abduction?
Gabrielle Walsh: That’s a good question. I think you will have to see. I think that when it comes to Gabi, the connection that Lacey has with her and the depth of the connection that maybe she will be able to see through some of the flaws. But I don’t think it’s without the pain of losing who you thought someone you were so close to was – when you find out that person has been lying to you, and they’re not who they claim to be at all. , which is a loss of identity in several ways. So I think, maybe there is a world where that exists, but I don’t think it’s going to be that easy.
Found season 2 will see Master use Lacey to try and get Gabi back
“You’ll feel the pity, and I hate to say it, but [you’ll see] Just how Lord feels about Lacey and using that as a tool to his advantage.
The episode ends with Lord at Lacey’s home, so will we see what actually happens before he takes her?
Gabrielle Walsh: The writers do a really good job of not giving everything away. Without giving it away, you see how deep that interaction is between the two, and you get breadcrumbs along the way. It’s a bit of a psychological thriller in that way, and Lord loves his puzzles. He likes to draw Gabi, you won’t get everything right, but you’ll go on the journey of what it was and see the team do their thing to figure out what happened and what’s going on. where is lacy
Lord really has a crippling kind of concern for Gabi and her welfare. His feelings for Lacey are definitely different, so what will this time in captivity look like?
Gabrielle Walsh: As you can see, Lord lied to Lacey. He just feels so close to Gabi and it’s his family. And I think Lord blames Lacey for losing Gabi because it wasn’t until he took Lacey that Gabi got the strength to get out of there when it got out of control, which is kind of a theme of how she handles everything, but to the Measure where she will bend and break the law to do what it takes to see someone home. So you will feel the pity, and I hate to say it, but [you’ll see] Just how Lord feels about Lacey and using that as a tool to his advantage with trying to win Gabi back.
Lacey had Gabi to protect her when they were kids, but how will she be now that she’s alone?
Gabrielle Walsh: Lacey is no longer a child, and that’s a big difference. Even then she had Gabi to give her strength and to protect her, and she has had Gabi since, in many ways, to look up to, apart from the recent secret revelation. But she has to model herself. I don’t think she is completely unprepared.
I think Herr was there on the loose, that she didn’t just push with her thumb. She was preparing for this, but it’s nothing like the real-life scenario where it’s actually happening, where you’re actually facing your monster.
Walsh believes that Zeke was Lacey’s safe space outside of Gabi
“It’s the connection that they have, where they can almost feel free with each other and be able to feel safe.”
Maybe this isn’t at the forefront of everyone’s minds, but I just want to check – is Lacey’s dog okay? Someone went to pick up Cruiser?
Gabrielle Walsh: Cruiser is healthy. Cruiser only got some mild poisoning. Fortunately, he is okay. I don’t think NK or NBC want to turn the dog away. [Laughs] We don’t want that. Maybe Master would want that, but MP loves dogs too, so Cruiser is okay. Cruiser is alive and well.
I really loved Zeke’s dynamic with Lacey last season. What are your thoughts on where this could potentially go if she escapes?
Gabrielle Walsh: I think that Zeke and Lacey had a really strong bond when they experienced mutual trauma as children. It is that connection that they have where they are almost able to feel free with each other and able to feel safe. I think Zeke, in a lot of ways, outside of Gabby, especially last season, was Lacey’s safe space. You will see that bond grow and that connection grow. Outside of Gabi, Zeke is someone Lacey can trust and that’s huge because of everything she’s been through.
What do you think is the most climactic episode of season 2 so far?
Gabrielle Walsh: We have 22. I don’t know if I can really point that. I think they keep getting more intense. It was funny because at the beginning of the season, NK sat us down and walked us through just like, “Hey, we’ve got 22 episodes, so we’re going to be able to slow burn this thing and get into things that way. A lot more.”
But literally from the first episode it was just like chaos. There was chaos. Of course, because Lacey is with Lord, but every episode gives you something to look forward to and be on the edge of your seat. We start really strong, so the first few episodes you’ll be in it.
