I am a huge Animal crossing fan, so when Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp It came out first, I wanted to like it. Despite my best efforts, I just couldn't get into it. This was partly because I had an old phone at the time and all charging took forever, and partly because I was still playing games New Horizons back then and I didn't need another Animal crossing game.
Now this Complete pocket camping came out though, I got sucked back into the game to fill the void left behind when I stopped playing New Horizons. I'm not surprised I'm loving Pocket Camp. It's adorable and charming, and has all the characters of everyone else Animal crossing titles.
What do I am What surprised me is that I discovered three new characters that I didn't even know existed and that I would have missed if I had never learned about them. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp complete. I'm talking, of course, about the hilarious birds from OK Motors.
Pocket World Complete is a meeting place for existing special characters
Some familiar faces appear
Before even meeting the Ok Motors trio, I was greeted by some faces I know very well. Isabelle is one of my favorite characters in any game, so I was happy to see her friendly face when I booted up the app. Although she does not play a major role Pocket Camp In addition to introducing me to the region, I know it's always close enough to stop by and say hello.
Tom Nook is clearly too busy to abandon his lucrative island development business, but his assistants Timmy and Tommy are around to continue the march of capitalism. The game also includes the Competent sister seamstresses, the elegant singer KK Slider, Blathers the adventurous owl, Gulliver the sea gull, and many other familiar faces. Not all special Animal crossing character is present and considered, but many are, and it feels like a warm and inviting welcome to B.C fans.
In addition to special characters, there are over 400 villagers to find and invite back to camp. These are all the villagers that have ever been introduced, from all the games in the Animal crossing game. For one Animal crossing veteran, seeing all these familiar faces in one place was incredibly nostalgic. And, with so many existing characters present and accounted for, I didn't expect there to be new characters introduced in Pocket Camp. And then I went to update my trailer and got a wonderful surprise.
I didn't expect to find new characters to fall in love with in Pocket World
The OK Motor Birds manages to be a new addition to the AC world
OK Motors is the workshop where AC: Pocket Camp players will upgrade their campers. The trio is made up of the older Carlo, the young Beppe and the boss who commands the entire operation, Giovanni. From the moment I met them, they completely won me over. The three definitely operate as a team, but each is distinct and recognizable.
According to old Carlo, the The OK Motors store is a family establishment that has been passed down from generation to generation. Carlo has worked there since he was “younger than you,“although Giovanni runs the place today despite not being the oldest. Although Carlo is getting older, his mind is sharp and his car skills have been honed through years of practice. He has a gray patch just below his chin that looks like a white beard, making it clear that this is the oldest and wisest member of the team.
Beppe is the youngest of the three OK Motor birds. He is thin and a little strange, but incredibly enthusiastic about his work. He is the artist of the group and all the cool car designs and liveries available for the trailer were created by him. He is very proud of his work, calling his designs “so cool,” and yet quite humble, downplaying his experience. Beppe comes across as a bit naive and green in the ears (although not, of course, literally) and his lines tend to be the funniest.
And then there is Giovanni, the boss and head of the entire team. All transactions related to the camper go through him. Giovanni has a round head and ever-concerned eyebrows, which makes him incredibly captivating. He has a very strong “father” energy, calling my character his “hitter” and “friend.” and I can't help but imagine him speaking with a Brooklyn-Italian accent.
Separately, they are delicious, but together they are even better. I haven't spent much time decorating my trailer yet, but I've updated it twice, just to see the silly antics the three of them get up to every time I update. They never fail to make me laugh with their bobbing little heads and their jokes.
I'm surprised every Animal Crossing character is so different
Many years and hundreds of characters later, Animal Crossing still offers
In recent years, I have seen an increasing number of discussions about whether Animal crossing lost touch with its focus on residents. I've read forum posts from many players disillusioned with the increasing focus on decoration and the abandonment of memorable interactions between characters. Having met the newest members of Animal crossing family, Beppe, Carlo and Giovanni, I disagree with the sentiment.
Of course, the lines of dialogue when interacting with villagers in Pocket Camp They start to repeat themselves after a while, but that's to be expected in a game with over 400 unique characters with daily conversation options. Despite that, The series' villagers and special characters continue to feel new and freshand as charming as when I found this title.
I'm sure part of that is because I started playing Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp recently, only after it was relaunched as a paid app rather than an ever-updating app. With an app that was constantly receiving new content, it may have seemed unfair to have villagers frequently repeat the lines of other characters already in the game. But for me, Pocket Camp has been a wonderful reminder of how charming and endearing villagers can be.
I hope that whatever the Animal crossing development team is working next, they manage to bring even more diverse and charming personalities from the previous games. I also hope that wherever the series goes, it brings back the OK Motor trio of Beppe, Carlo and Giovanni. It would be a shame if these wonderful new characters were left behind in the Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp complete world.
