THE Of The season 3 finale resurrects a major villain killed in the previous season. From the first episode, which begins with one of the OfAfter the monsters killed Megan Pratt (Bella Martin) and her mother, Lauren (Ann Doyle), the series wasn’t afraid to kill off characters. Father Khatri (Shaun Majumder), Tian-Chen Liu (Elizabeth Moy), Tillie (Deborah Grover) and now Jim Matthews (Eion Bailey) are among the many character deaths that have occurred since the first episode.
Although many of the town’s residents died, OfThe characters have failed to kill most of the villains that terrorize them. One of the few exceptions is Boyd Stevens (Harold Perrineau) killing the monster known as Smiley (Jame McGuire) in Season 2, Episode 6. Smiley is undoubtedly the most recognizable of Ofthe monstersincluding his terrifying appearances during the Colony House massacre in season one. He is now back and as horrible as ever Of season 3 finale.
Fatima’s Baby Becomes the Smiling Monster in Season 3 Finale

After Fatima (Pegah Ghafoori) gives birth, the baby gradually reveals herself to be a resurrected Smiley. Monsters watch in the tunnels like an adult Smiley triumphantly emerges from the placenta and smiles his unnerving smile. Of Revealing that Fatima’s baby is a revived Smiley is an even more horrific outcome than the characters could have imagined. A monster growing inside her seemed like a viable possibility, but not Smiley himself.
Fatima’s appetite for rotten vegetables and drinking human blood while pregnant is in line with what Smiley needed to sustain herself and be reborn. The moment when Fatima loses control and kills Tillie can also be seen in a new light, as this monstrous desire was rooted in Smiley’s murderous tendencies. Now that Smiley is back and at full strength, it’s as if Boyd never killed him, making the monsters even more terrifying ahead. Of season 4.

Season 3 Finale Reveals Monsters Were Once People, But They Sacrificed Themselves Ofof “Anghkooey” children in exchange for eternal life. Smiley and the other individuals are now able to live forever in their monstrous forms, meaning that Smiley’s death at Boyd’s hands would never be permanent. The immortality of the monsters prevents them from being permanently killed by the other residents, as they can simply be reborn in the same way as Smiley via Fátima.
In the end, Fatima’s baby just saves the monsters, whose numbers are now fully replenished, and can continue their eternal reign of terror with Smiley at their side again in Of season 4.
Fátima discovered she was pregnant in season 2, shortly after Smiley’s death, proving that the process of her resurrection began almost immediately after her short death. The ghostly woman seen by Elgin (Nathan D. Simmons) told him that Fatima’s baby would save him and his friends. In the end, Fatima’s baby just saves the monsters, whose numbers are now fully replenished, and can continue their eternal reign of terror with Smiley at their side again in Of season 4.
