Sometimes it can be easy to forget this Fortnite has been going strong since 2017, especially since it long ago moved away from its Battle Royale and Left 4 Dead-esque roots to encompass a much wider range of experiences. Sure, it's still a Battle Royale title – not least because it remains the most popular mode – but it's hard to argue that Fortnite has become much bigger than its own namesake thanks to a plethora of crossovers and quite successful integration with the LEGO brand.

This is best evidenced by its new social simulation mode, Fortnite Brick Life. Announced as part of a huge lineup of new game modes and features coming to the base version Fortnite and Lego Fortnite experiences, Fortnite Brick Life is a social simulation game mode that allows up to 32 players to play in a large LEGO city filled with all the amenities and workplaces fans would expect. Of course, since the release of the game's initial trailer, it's been hard not to see the striking resemblance to Rockstar's immensely popular game. GTA Online.

Fortnite is becoming an all-consuming entity, but at least in the case of its GTA Online-esque, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Fortnite has no problem going after some of the biggest games, as it proved with its new Call to action mode. However, this is not inherently bad, especially in the case of Fortnite Brick Lifewhich offers a child-friendly approach to urban social simulation. It allows players – especially younger ones – to hang out with their friends in a gigantic cityget jobs and build their own homes. It's a dream come true, just tastes Roblox offered to that demographic, although it has its own fair share of problems which make it less suitable for children.

Fortnite Brick Life It also came at the right time, as the brand has slowly fallen into nostalgia. With 5v5 first person mode and Brick Life social sim gameplay, Fortnite continues to spread itself as far as possible when it begins to feel that its preexisting ways have little new to offer. This is not to say that the current series of seasons in the main Fortnite game mode has been bad or has no redeeming qualities, but yes Fortnite has done and will always do everything he can to survive, and Brick Life is part of these efforts.

Not all modes or seasons work in the game's favor, but they typically prove to be polished experiences with a lot to offer fans new and old. Brick Life will certainly attract a whole new group of people who are perhaps less in love with Fortnite game cycle or even the main Lego Fortnite game mode, while the new and undefined O.G. mode will entertain those who fell in love with everyone Fortnite several innovations.

It is fascinating to observe the continuous and exponential growth of Fortnitewith its seemingly unstoppable reach attracting millions of players at a consistent pace. There's certainly an argument to be made about how the game's identity was stripped from it before it was haphazardly stapled together thanks to the introduction, removal, and return of many of its most popular features and modes. However, it's hard to argue that this plethora of game modes, Fortnite Brick Life included, are bad for players, especially when they remain completely free.
