Former Bethesda developer is confident the Starfield sequel will be exactly what everyone wanted in the first place

Star field may have stumbled when it launched, but someone with plenty of experience working with Bethesda is confident the studio’s next attempt at the game will be significantly better. As is the case with many video game franchises, the sequel is often better than the original, especially when the creative team has the right feedback and a bigger budget to tweak everything that didn’t work and improve on all the aspects that did. In case of Star fieldWe can only hope that the game has garnered enough support to warrant a second attempt.

Talking to Video gamerformer Bethesda designer Bruce Nesmith, who worked on games like Fallout 3, Fallout 4, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, and The Elder Scrolls 5:Skyrim, talked about Star fieldpotential as a growing franchise, noting that he’s particularly excited to play a sequel:

“I’m looking forward to Starfield 2. I I think it’s going to be quite a game because it’s going to address a lot of the things people are saying‘We’re fine there. We are missing a little. It’s going to be able to take what’s there now and put a lot of new things in there and fix a lot of those problems.”

Nesmith noted that when he was involved in the production of Skyrim, the team was lucky to have Oblivion as a reference point for areas that needed improvement. The designer notes that Star field It suffered in the same way as many original IPs, suggesting that a sequel will likely give users the game they’ve always wanted.

Is Starfield getting a sequel?

The jury is still out

Nesmith talks about a Star field sequel as if it’s definitely happening, but at the time of writing, Bethesda has yet to announce any formal plans for a sequel. After the Shattered Space expansion, which received mixed reviews from fans and critics, the studio confirmed that it is working on more content, including a second paid DLC. That’s not to say a sequel is impossible, but given Bethesda’s slate of projects, You have to imagine that it’s not a priority right now.

In addition to the fact that the developer is still working on growth Star field with content updates and patches, his next major project is widely believed to be The Elder Scrolls 6. Announced in 2018, fans have been desperately waiting for some kind of update on the fantasy RPG, but Bethesda has yet to share any concrete information beyond a brief reveal trailer. There was also talk about a possible Fallout 5 Effect but this has not yet been formally confirmed.

Screen Rant’s opinion: the Starfield sequel will be better

I think the problem with Star field it’s that he tripped over himself trying to be everything to everyone instead of choosing a single vision and going all-in on it. There are flashes of brilliance in the experience; The shipbuilding system is excellent and the New Game+ feature is very creative. Unfortunately, it’s bogged down by poor mission design, an abundance of loading screens, and boring writing; One has to imagine that all of these problems could be resolved in a sequel if Bethesda chooses to go that route.
