Grand Admiral Thrawn gaining a modern counterpart Star Wars Canon probably comes as no surprise to many considering its iconic status (and that of Zahn's own trilogy), but having Crimson Jack appear in a live-action Star Wars the production is undoubtedly surprising for long-time readers and viewers of Star Wars Expanded Universe. The wonder Star Wars comics are among the oldest and – despite their excellence – most niche Star Wars properties of the franchise, so that one of its characters becomes the protagonist in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew gives them their most popular exposure to date.
