Force Unleashed’s unused story would have revealed the last Skywalker… and a Star Wars future I’m still desperate to see

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed tells the story of Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, but it almost introduced the last Skywalker in Star Wars‘distant future. According to The Art and Production of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed by W. Haden Blackman and Brett Rector, the game went through several changes in development and originally had a completely different story. One of these ideas, dubbed “Jedi Outlaw”, would have continued the Skywalker legacy and led Star Wars into the future like no story has done before or since.

At a time when most Star Wars the stories don’t stray too far from the familiar parts of the timeline, having a plot that could go in that direction sounds exciting to me. It’s fun to contemplate what could have been and wonder if some future Star Wars films will address this type of story. There are also many game mechanics and abilities proposed in The Force Unleashedthe original sketch that could result in a truly remarkable project Star Wars gaming experience.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Unused Future Jedi Explained

500 years after Return of the Jedi

The developers of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed considered various time periods to define the gameincluding “an era about five hundred years after the death of Darth Vader,” which would have been the first time the franchise went this far into the future. This time jump would have allowed both the Jedi and Sith to rebuild, but instead of fighting another war, both orders would have entered into an uneasy alliance. Now there is only “the Council”, led by six Jedi and six Sith, although it has not been specified how such an alliance could be maintained.

Taking this approach would have given the developers freedom to tell a story free from any continuity constraints of previous ones. Star Wars ages. I would also love to see how two orders with inherently opposing philosophies could work together.or perhaps it would have led them to develop a new philosophy as a group. THE Star Wars: Legacy comic book series by John Ostrander and Jan Duursema is still one of my favorites Star Wars stories for this reason, jumping in head first to show how the galaxy has evolved long after the films.

The Force Unleashed’s final Skywalker was created to be a fantastic hero

Escaping from the Jedi and Sith

Although Luke Skywalker never had children in canon, he did start a family in the Star Wars Legends timeline and the original argument for The Force Unleashed would have focused on his descendant. This protagonist would have started the game as a Jedi sheriff protecting his region of space from criminals and other threats.until he is accused of murdering another Jedi and becomes the game’s “Jedi Outlaw.” He would flee from the Jedi and the Sith, while trying to find out who framed him, who may be a Council member with the last name “Solo”.

Furthermore, why would a Jedi Master, let alone a Solo, frame a Skywalker, and what would his plans be for the Jedi and Sith going forward?

While I already loved the basic world-building, it feels like it would have been a genuinely engaging story. This reminds me of Ahsoka Tano having to flee from the Jedi in the final arc of Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 5but this game would have the added benefit of Sith involvement. Furthermore, why would a Jedi Master, let alone a Solo, frame a Skywalker, and what would his plans be for the Jedi and Sith going forward? These are fascinating questions that I would love to explore in a Star Wars video game.

Even the Force Evolved for This Star Wars Timeline

Jedi discovered new abilities

One of the most surprising aspects of this beginning Force Unleashed The tone is how much the Force powers have grown and evolved, which would make gameplay incredibly fun. The developers believed that the Jedi and Sith would have discovered new and inventive ways to use the Force, including launching balls of Force energy, seeing in different spectrums, and even changing shape. This mentality carried over into the more exaggerated Force powers seen in the final version of The Force Unleashed. The Jedi would also have more sophisticated armor, specialized weapons, and the ability to infuse their equipment with the Force.

Some of these ideas are probably a little too much for one Star Wars movie, but I think they look perfect for a video game. I also like how the developers prioritized making the Jedi and Sith evolve over time, making the story really feel like the future of the galaxy. These abilities would add greater stakes to the story, as the Jedi and Sith chasing the last Skywalker would result in incredibly powerful boss fights. Sadly, the developers ultimately decided that the story wouldn’t have enough popular appealbut I still love a lot of these ideas.

Skywalkers versus Solos… What could be more exciting?

Some things never change for these Star Wars families

I must admit that the Skywalker vs. The game’s solo is what intrigues me the most. Seeing Luke’s nephew fall to the dark side was painful for both of them. Star Wars timelinesfrom Jacen Solo becoming Darth Caedus in Legends to Ben Solo’s turn as Kylo Ren in canon. At the time of Star Wars: Legacythe Skywalker and Solo families went their separate ways, interacting only on rare occasions. I wonder if it would be the same thing in this “Jedi Outlaw” game, or if they know their family history and that makes their betrayal of each other more devastating.

I’m just speculating, but perhaps Jedi Master Solo was planning to become a Sith or merge the Jedi and the Sith, which is why he murdered a fellow Jedi who was against it. He then framed Sheriff Skywalker to keep everyone distracted, or perhaps he wanted to end both orders. This era and history open up so many possibilities, and I really hope that the future Star Wars projects will take risks like this. If we can have Star Wars stories thousands of years ago, why not continue the story of Skywalker and Solo in the distant future?
