Finally, Dragon Ball Daima gave Vegeta the victory I've been hoping for for decades

Vegeta has long held a leadership role in Dragon ballbecoming almost as iconic as the series' main Saiyan in the years since the franchise's revival in the early 2010s. Being one of the greatest anime and manga villains turned heroes, the prince of the Saiyans is arguably the most interesting character in the series. franchise. And now, Dragon Ball Daima finally gave Vegeta an incredibly overdue, well-deserved, and exciting victory over a major villain.

Dragon ballThe protagonist of was and always will be Goku and, as a result, Vegeta is often left aside as the main Saiyan beats villain after villain. For years, fans have been waiting for Vegeta to achieve a big victory, and not just Dragon Ball Daima gave it to him, but did so with style, revealing his new Super Saiyan 3 transformation in the process.

Daima it was a love letter to Dragon balland a celebration of what made Akira Toriyama's masterpiece such a special story. However, his initial focus on Goku and select friends was worrying for Vegeta fans like me, and the underutilization of him, Piccolo, and Bulma in the series, even after they landed in the Demon Realm, was alarming. Fortunately, it seems Daima plan to make the most of having multiple characters on screen at the same timeand Vegeta's latest victory is just the beginning of great things to come.

Vegeta takes home a rare but well-deserved victory

Revealing his own Super Saiyan 3 transformation, Vegeta scores a victory

Dragon ball spent most of its long runtime growing its core cast of heroes, and over time each became iconic in their own right. When all is said and done, however, Dragon ball is the story of Goku, and the protagonist of the series will always enjoy the majority of victories in battles. But for the important role that Vegeta has played throughout the series' recent history, the prince deserves an occasional victory, and Dragon Ball Daima finally gave it to him.

Taking center stage, Vegeta challenged the fearsome Dragon Ball guardian of the Second Demon World, Tamigami #2. The battle began in the previous episode 11, and it didn't go very well for the Saiyan in the early stages of the fight. Being pushed back with ease, Vegeta was swallowed by the monstrous Kraken that was hiding in the sea. Episode 12, titled "True Strength", continued the battle and shocked everyone by introducing Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta, who dismantled the Tamigami with ease after transforming it.

There's something incredibly cathartic about seeing Vegeta secure a definitive victory in battle. We have often seen the prince defeat an enemy, only to then snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. During the entire fight with Tamigami #2, I could only imagine the events of Resurrection 'F'which saw a dominant Vegeta miss the chance to secure victory over Frieza for little reason other than ensuring Goku won.

Instead, Vegeta quickly finished the battle and even solved the riddle to secure the Dragon Ball. The episode seemed a love letter to the series' bold but endearing princenot only allowing him to strut his stuff, but also giving him access to a form that has always been exclusive to Goku.

Daima benefits from having Vegeta around

The dynamic between Goku and Vegeta elevates Dragon Ball

Dragon Ball Daima was defined by his adventurous spirit in its first episodes, exploring an entirely new environment that could only have come from Akira Toriyama. And while the nostalgic journey was undeniably moving, few dynamics between anime characters are as fun as those between the franchise's main Saiyans. Since Vegeta's first appearance in the Saiyan Saga, the two warriors have brought out the best in each other, breaking their limits and reaching new heights of power.

Dragon Ball Super has benefited immensely from keeping Goku and Vegeta in the spotlight, and now Daima it is also, returning the focus to the action since it landed in the Demon Realm. Goku and Vegeta's respective battles with the Tamigamis are two of the best fight sequences in Dragon ball History of TV animeand brought greater attention to the series after a somewhat lukewarm response from the community to its first few sections.

Many fans enjoy the slower exploration aspects of the series, but Dragon ball will always be known for his fight. And if Vegeta is going to be the catalyst for this action to move forward, then Daima It's better to have him around. And with Vegeta's new access to the Super Saiyan 3 transformation, there's a very real possibility that we'll get a Super Saiyan 3 double battle with Goku and Vegeta in the historically underutilized form.

Vegeta's new transformation opens doors for Daima to move forward

Daima can introduce other new transformations despite her placement in the timeline

Dragon Ball Daima takes place in the period between the Majin Buu Saga and Dragon Ball Supermaking use of plot elements relevant to the Buu arc such as Super Saiyan 3. Fans believed that due to its placement in the timeline, there would be no surprising new power-ups or heavy introductions of elements that would be absent later in Super. However, Vegeta's new Super Saiyan form It might just be a sign that Daima is willing to incorporate new transformations despite them not appearing later in the timeline.

It was hinted earlier in the series that the merger is on the way, as Daima has consistently reminded audiences of the Join Bugs in Goku's possession. Whether this fused fighter will be Vegito, Gogeta, or someone entirely new remains to be seen, but given Vegeta's new form, this fighter will probably use Super Saiyan 3 somewhere down the line.

Dragon Ball Daima It's been an absolute joy to watch week after week, breathing new life into a franchise that's largely stagnant aside from movie releases every few years. And if fans were hesitant to check it out before, Vegeta's latest rare victory and new transformation might convince them to tune in. Future episodes are sure to include more incredibly animated fight sequences that are both new and old. Dragon ball fans won't want to miss it.

Dragon Ball DAIMA is the fifth series overall in the action-adventure anime franchise. It features most of the classic cast members as aged versions of themselves, including Goku, Vegeta, and Bulma. The series was announced at NYCC 2023, with creator Akira Toriyama returning to manage DAIMA.
