Pal World announced a massive new update during The Game Awards 2024, bringing new features, friends, mechanics and more. The beloved base-building, gun-toting, monster-catching indie game has amassed a huge fan following since it launched in January. The newest update is coming soon, giving players areas to explore and friends to fight and befriend.
Pal World: Feybreak was announced in a reveal trailer during The game prizesand has received a December 23 release date. The new update will be the game's biggest yet, bringing a massive new island, weapons, buildings, mechanics and many more ways to play. To celebrate the release of the update, Pal World is also having a 25% off sale on Steam from now until December 19th.

THE Feybreak The update will bring new content to explore and interact with on an island six times larger than Sakurajima from the previous update. The update also adds a new area for newcomers to explore, a traditional Japanese base style, and much more. The trailer shows a man engaging a friend in a fight that lasts several days, prompting jokes about this being the new way to capture friends.
The video then shows off a series of new friends, including a shadowy creature that is already emerging as a fan favorite. Fans can catch a glimpse of a few newcomers to the game, including a large black and blue dinosaur-like enemy, a blue-headed floating friend, and a few other new designs. Several new mechanics are also suggested, including a brief look at what appears to be Pal's cloning vats at around 1:18 of the trailer.

The brave indie title managed to hold its own among games from big names like Wukong and the Elden Ring DLC during The Game Awards main voting, conducted by industry experts such as journalists, critics and industry experts. When the Players Voice Awards opened voting to regular players, the game's dedicated fanbase pushed Pal World move on to the second round of voting.
The game's awards success appears to be fueled by a mix of fans who truly love the game and those who simply want to “get the man right,” aka Nintendo. Pal World has been in and out of the spotlight this year, leading to the biggest controversy: a lawsuit filed jointly by Pokémon and Nintendo. Legal problems have not abated Pal World developers Pocketpal, and there is a lot of new content coming to the game, including the Pal World: Feybreak update and collaboration with Terrarium.
