The search for Tiffany’s replacement continues, as FBIThe new series regular leaves before his episode even airs. Citing a desire to pursue different opportunities, Katherine Renee Kane left during FBI Season 7 and the character of Special Agent Tiffany Wallace was discarded at the premiere of the seventh edition. While it seemed like the CBS procedural might have found a permanent replacement, the latest update confirms that the search will continue.

Deadline reports that National Treasure: Limits of History actress Lisette Olivera is leaving FBIwith her departure occurring before her character even debuted on screen. The actor will play Syd Ortiz, a trained Behavioral Analysis Unit agent who joins the criminal division of the agency’s New York field office. Her character will will still premiere during the November 12th episode as planned, and the episodes she filmed will still be part of Season 7.

Ortiz was planned as Scola’s (John Boyd) new partner, taking over the void created by Wallace’s departure. Until now, as part FBI Season 7, Scola had a few potential partners. Although she was considered a permanent partner, the latest update means that Boyd’s temporary partners will continue for a little while longer. It’s unclear at this time if and when the CBS show plans to bring in a permanent replacement..

Sources make it clear that Olivera’s early departure is not a reflection of his work. It is more true, according to sources, that the character did not fit perfectly into the series. According to Deadlinereports, Olivera may have been miscast for the role of FBI special agent which would require a lot of life experience for the 25-year-old artist.
