Concord May not have been around very long though That’s not stopping a group of dedicated fans from trying to bring the game back. One of the most disastrous video game launches of the last decade, Firewalk Studios and Sony’s hero-shooter was only available to play for two weeks before it was terminated and refunds were issued to everyone who purchased it. The notorious release may have become something of a meme online but some players are eager to give the game a second chance, even if it’s a tongue-in-cheek attempt.
Posted to Change.org by user Vora Sumi, The hilariously titled petition “We’re all busy this week – please release Concord Again” is looking to get the game back online With the support of the community. Although the name of the movement is no doubt funny and a dig at the notorious launch, Vora sumi notes that they “really believe the game has a chance” and is looking for support from fellow fans. At the time of writing, the petition has collected over 2,000 signatures as it nears its next goal of 2,500, a goal that could be reached this week.
Can Concorde make a comeback?
The future is a mystery
Much like most other Change.org petitions, it is unlikely that the movement will succeed Concord Back on everyone’s radar will actually work. It is widely believed that the game has been completely scrapped as Firewalk Studios moves on to another project, but this may not be the case. The developer said it is planning to “Explore options that will achieve better results“The player basesuggesting it intends to re-release a version of the game that better resonates with the community.

Whether such a plan comes to fruition or not remains to be seen but it seems like a major risk to simply scrap Concord completely. The game has been in development for several years and with the support that Sony generally affords to its first-party line-up, you have to imagine that the publisher wants to see a return on investment. Some have suggested pivoting Concord to a free-to-play model But at this point, even that seems unlikely to save it.
Concords Failure could be the final nail in the coffin when it comes to PlayStation’s live-service game push. In 2022, Sony doubled down on the game-as-a-service model, a tactic that has proven a mixed bag with success stories like Heldivers 2 And not much else. Given how many players are disappointed by the strategy, it may be time to shift back to creating premium single-player experiences.
