Just when Jujutsu Kaisen fans thought that Satoru Gojo finally put an end to Ryomen SukunaThe King of Curses achieved one of the most shocking victories in manga history. Although fans understood how strong Sukuna was, Gojo’s skills, experience, and confidence strongly indicated that he would win. Indeed, during the fight, Gojo had effective counterplay to every maneuver of Sukuna. Gojo clearly had the better strategy—until the very end.
Gojo vs Sukuna was a fight Jujutsu Kaisen fans have been waiting since the manga debuted, and it turned out to be every bit as epically intense as they expected. Earlier in the story, Gojo easily dealt with Sukuna, but this fight only lasted ten seconds and Sukuna was not at his full strength. However, from now on Sukuna took over Megumi Fushiguro’s body.as well as his cursed technique “Ten Shadows”, which features an incredibly powerful cursed spirit known as Mahoraga. It was this, along with Gojo’s decisive miscalculation, that ultimately allowed Sukuna to win.
Mahoraga changed the balance of the fight in Sukuna’s favor
Sukuna’s extensive new list of abilities changed their rematch dramatically.
Gojo entered the fight with a number of advantages. He was born with the rare special ability of the Six-Eyes Gojo Clan and inherited the Limitless technique. The Limitless brings the concept of infinity to reality, allowing the user to distort and manipulate space at will, and Gojo can combine this with the Six Eyes, which reduces his cursed energy consumption and allows for increased precision and accuracy. Their combination allows him to manipulate space so that nothing can hit him. Moreover, Gojo was a skilled tactician, always thinking several steps ahead of his opponent. Sukuna, however, is not known as the King of Curses for nothing. Sukuna’s domain expansion technique, Evil Temple, allowed him to break through Limitless’s defenses and strike Gojou.
While Sukuna only relied on his “basic” curse technique, Gojo proved to be a more powerful sorcerer.so Sukuna decided to use Megumi’s Ten Shadows ability to summon Mahoraga. Although Sukuna was able to penetrate Gojo’s Boundless Technique with his own Domain Extension, he was unable to use his Cursed Technique at the same time. Mahoraga’s strength is that he can adapt to any attack thrown at him if given enough time. Mahoraga solved Sukuna’s problems by taking it upon himself to snatch the Limitless One from Sukuna’s grasp. By doing so, this allowed Sukuna to use his cursed energy attacks once Mahoraga created an opening.
Sukuna achieved victory with an incredible last-second strategy
However, Gojo knew everything about Mahoraga and his abilities. Accordingly, he designed his attack to destroy Sukuna before Mahoraga could fully adapt, or so he thought. The problem was that Mahoraga did not stop the process of adaptation and did not limit himself to one form of adaptation. Therefore, finding that he was having trouble quickly successfully adapting to Gojo’s limitless abilities, he decided to expand the scope of his activities. Instead of adapting to Gojo, the company decided to adapt to the environment in which Gojo operates, which is the space that Gojo occupied.
Once Sukuna realized what Mahoraga was doing, he also changed his tactics. He planned to learn from Mahoraga’s adaptation and apply it to his cursed technique.. Instead of trying to hit Gojo, he hit the space in which Gojo was operating. In other words, if Gojo were a figure drawn on glass, Limitless would not allow anyone to touch the glass where the figure was drawn. But this could not stop someone from touching other parts of the glass where the figure was not drawn. So, Sukuna realized that if he broke the glass where there was no figure drawn, the cracks would eventually spread and destroy the figure on it, and Gojo would be unable to do anything to stop it.
This was Gojo’s critical miscalculation, and Sukuna took advantage of it by using “world-cutting slashes,” a new technique that “extended space, existence, and the world itself.” thus, Gojo was not his target, rendering Limitless useless.. This was later briefly explained in chapter #246 as “dismantling (Sukuna’s normal slashing technique) enhanced by the curse technique’s wider impact area.”
In the end, Sukuna won thanks to the help of Mahoraga, a technique he stole from Megumi. However, it is also true that Sukuna did not show his true form in the fight against Gojo, and he has at least one more cursed technique (flame manipulation) that he did not use in that fight. So, although the battle seemed even to the end, Jujutsu Kaisen fans will have to admit it Sukuna eventually surpassed Gojoleaving behind one of the best battles in manga history.
Sukuna and Gojo will fight once again – but not in the way fans expected
Yuta copying Kenjaku’s cursed ability leads to a heartbreaking turn of events as the series enters its climax.
After Gojo’s defeat, manga fans were left confused as to what the main characters would do to try and defeat the Curse King. In a turn that was not so unexpected, Yuta Okkotsu decided to copy Kenjaku’s cursed technique and inhabit Gojo’s body. to face the terrifying villain one last time. This turn of events is heartbreaking as it confirms that the vast majority of magical society truly only ever saw Gojo as a weapon. Although this series of events is horrific, it is generally consistent Jujutsu KaisenThe main themes that were present from the very beginning when Sukuna mastered Yuuji.
However, Yuta’s appearance in Gojo’s body was as much of a shock to Sukuna as it was to the fans. Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter No. 261. This was a deliberate contingency move in case Gojo actually lost to Sukuna, leaving Yuuji, Yuuta and their allies alive in the battle. Yuta uses the late sorcerer’s methods to destroy Sukuna’s domain again in chapter #263. But even then, fans will be concerned that Yuta in Gojo’s body will suffer the same fate due to Kenjaku’s cursed technique, Brain Transplant, burning out.
Another six chapters wouldn’t be enough when Yuta will be shown returning to his original body in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter #269. This also allows Gojo’s body to rest for the rest of the series, facilitating the vast majority of fights with Sukuna, even in death. Although Gojo did not deliver the killing blow, his efforts were extremely useful in the Battle of Shinjuku.
Despite his death, Gojo did defeat Sukuna in his own way.
“No, I would win”
Gojo’s death was a huge catalyst for fans, who quickly became upset about it. Jujutsu Kaisenand hopes of his return from the grave were inevitably buried as Sukuna individually defeated him. However, Gojo contributed greatly to Sukuna’s defeat in both destruction of the Temple of Malice in the first battleand also with Utah, who owns it, with Gojo’s Unlimited Hollow Purple also destroys Mahoraga, his wheel, and the threat of Fushiguro’s abilities.. The fight with Sukuna was lost, but Gojo won the war thanks to Gojo’s students who carried the torch in his place.
Conversely, this can be dismissed as a convenient way to reframe Gojou’s self-assured attitude towards Sukune as something more proactive. It’s not unreasonable for fans to believe that Gojo didn’t really expect to lose to Sukune, but rather that his students actually did what he couldn’t. without taking away from the tangible contribution Gojo made to his team’s victory. It’s equally reasonable to believe that Gojo didn’t consider himself a loser, but because of what was at stake, Sukuna’s defeat was still ultimately Gojo’s posthumous victory in Jujutsu Kaisen.
Happy series finale Jujutsu Kaisen showing Sukuna finding her humanity in an emotional send-off, Yuuji’s influence plays a major role, and Gojo’s favorite student, Megumi, is saved, a Pyrrhic victory for the late genius sorcerer. Gojo’s team withstood everything Sukuna could throw at them, defeating Kenjaku, ending the Selection Game and stopping the merger with Tengen. The war is over and Gojo can finally be put to rest Jujutsu Kaisenand he has no opponents to fight with.
