WARNING: Major spoilers for Terror 3 ahead!Damien Leone’s horror slasher story takes another step forward with Horror 3and in doing so, the franchise’s main character met an untimely and rather gruesome end. Horror The franchise centers around Art the Clown, a twisted killer who, over the course of three films in the franchise, has evolved into something much more evil and powerful. He met his match in Horror 2 with Sienna Shaw, a young girl connected to the arts, unbeknownst to her, and the universe expanded beyond mere gruesome carnage into a study of good and evil.
In the final chapter, Art’s murder count continues to rise thanks to the breaking of horror taboos and new inventive methods of destroying the human body and… While ultra-violence Horror 3 some people get sick, one main character dies off-screen, which is unusual for the franchise given its emphasis on disturbing gore. The circumstances surrounding this character’s death are a bit complex and require some explanation given the implications for the future of the franchise.

However, Art and Vicki get there first. The evil duo attacks and captures Sienna at her aunt and uncle’s house, revealing that they killed her uncle and also captured her aunt. Sienna is shown a flayed head in a cage being chewed on by rats, which she is told belong to her little cousin Gabby. However, when Gabby is revealed to be alive and unharmed, Vicki places Jonathan’s glasses on the gnawed head, implying that the head is actually her brother’s. Jonathan was killed off-screen, which is surprising for the franchise considering how important his character was.
How Jonathan’s death will affect Horror 3
This happens at the climax of the film.
Jonathan was an important figure in Sienna’s journey to overcome her traumatic encounter with Art in Horror 2as he was the only person who understood what she had been through and the scars she carried, both mental and physical. During Art’s murderous rampage five years earlier, he had brutally murdered her closest friends and her mother, so Jonathan was truly all she had left who was close to her. By killing Jonathan, Art completely isolated Sienna, making it easier for her to win.
As a finale Horror 3 reveals that the demon inhabiting Vicki’s body is determined to win and capture Sienna next time. She is able to resist this because she has some of her own power that seems to act as the opposite of Art’s womanizing ways. She is the warrior angel of his evil demon and acts as his archenemy; so he looks for ways to weaken her. Killing her brother, the rest of her family, and dragging Gabby to hell left Sienna truly alone and perhaps vulnerable enough for a demon to get to her.
Is Jonathan really dead?
His off-screen death creates many possibilities
Considering Horror With the franchise’s penchant for showing nearly every murder in mind-bending detail, it seems strange that a major character like Jonathan would be killed off entirely off-screen. Likewise, the severed head that Sienna is shown has all the flesh cleaned off, so other than the glasses Vicki puts on it, there is essentially no evidence that the head is actually Jonathan’s. Vicky already lied about his identity once, claiming it was Gabby originally – who’s to say she’s not lying again?
There is a very real possibility (and perhaps even a greater likelihood) that Jonathan is not actually dead, or at least not dismembered like most of Art’s victims. Jonathan himself may be trapped somewhere, just like Sienna, awaiting a terrible fate once Vicki and Art are done tormenting Sienna. He too could run away from them, and all they could take were his glasses. Regardless of what the truth is, the fact that no murder or Jonathan’s corpse was clearly shown casts doubt on his actual death.
How Jonathan might return in Horror 4
Sienna’s New Direction Could Include Jonathan
At the end Horror 3Gabby falls into a hole that opens up in the floor after Sienna decapitates Vicki. It is implied that the pit is a portal to Hell itself, and that Gabby may be trapped there, but perhaps not forever. Sienna is able to heal herself after Gabby falls into the hole and immediately vows that she will find her lost cousin. This means that she plans to go to any depths of hell to save her cousin, and she knows that she can do it.
This could be the path to Jonathan’s return: Sienna could bring him back from Hell itself in Terror 4.
Sienna was killed by Art at the end Horror 2 and sent to the Clown Café, Art’s personal hell-themed corner. She knows she has the power to not only escape Hell, but also resurrect herself, just like Art can. Her sword may have been lost to the pits of Hell when Gabby fell through the portal, so Sienna has even more incentive to find a way to Hell and back: the sword still seems to be the only thing that can give her a lethal advantage over Art and any of his assistants. and this may be the key to killing him once and for all.
Was it Jonathan’s head at the end Horror 3 or if he’s trapped in eternal torment like Gabby likely is, Sienna intends to go into the realm of the demons behind Art and Vicky to save them. Each chapter Horror the franchise has expanded on the fantasy and lore behind Art the Clown and Sienna, so it’s reasonable to expect the same from the almost inevitable next chapter of the slasher franchise. This could be the path to Jonathan’s return: Sienna could bring him back from hell to Horror 4.
