Star Wars Fan favorites Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen have both expressed their interest in a possible Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2, suggesting that the show may not be completely put to bed after all. Obi-Wan Kenobi was one of the more recent additions to Star Wars movies and TV shows, and it delighted audiences by bringing McGregor and Christensen back to their iconic roles as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, two of Star Wars Best letters. But, until now, Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 was quite unlikely.
However, per Variety, Ewan McGregor has expressed interest in returning to the screen again in the future Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2. According to the article, McGregor explained:
“I loved, more than anything, to know Alec Guinness’ work because I played him as a young man … Even now with the series, this is my personal challenge – if a name feels a little like him, I’ I’m happy.”
Excitingly, however, McGregor doesn’t think the job is done. Rather, he said:
“I really hope we get a chance to do another one….Between where we end up in the series and when Alec Guinness comes on screen with Luke Skywalker, I think there are still some stories to tell in there.”
As if the comments weren’t enough to get by Star Wars Audience excited, McGregor is not the only one Obi-Wan Kenobi Actor who seems to be in favor of a potential season 2. Anakin Skywalker actor Hayden Christensen also shared his hope for a second season, stating:
“If it means I get to do more with Ewan, that’s a no-brainer, but I really hope he continues with the character… Just as a fan, it’s so exciting to get to see him play Obi- Van – he’s just that good at it.
Although Star Wars Has so far indicated that it would not be an Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2, Christensen and McGregor’s comments certainly make it seem like hope remains.
