Evil Bulma would be Dragon Ball’s worst nightmare, and now we have proof

Dragon Ball Daima isn’t afraid to revisit the franchise’s roots. The series has already doubled down on prioritizing adventure over action and introduced new characters to fill the archetypes of older ones. Bulma is an interesting character because of how essential she was to the story during Dragon ballfirst sections, being the purveyor of the wonderfully wacky inventions that gave the world character. And now, Daima introduced another genius scientist into the series, and her terrible invention proves how dangerous Bulma can be.

Fortunately for Dragon ballBulma’s Heroes, Bulma is on their side, consistently creating immensely useful technologies such as the Dragon Radar, the spaceships taken to Namek, and the time machine used to fight Cell and Goku Black. On the other hand, Goku and company are quite unhappy that they now have to deal with Goku’s evil inventions. Dragon Ball DaimaArinsu, the Supreme Kai’s mysterious sister.

Dr. Arinsu was featured in Daimafirst episode and immediately framed as a suspicious character with ulterior motives. While walking through the First Demon World’s castle with the series’ main antagonist, Gomah, as well as the Supreme Kai’s other dark brother, Degesu, the peculiar doctor somehow made the most unpleasant impression of the three. And in DaimaIn the most recent episode 7, titled “Collar”, she is revealed to be the mastermind behind Dragon ballthe most sinister invention yet.

Arinsu presents Dragon Ball’s most evil invention

The mysterious doctor is responsible for the demonic third world necklaces

DaimaThe Demon Realm has been shown to operate in a hierarchy, with the First Demon World at the top of the hierarchy and the Third Demon World at the bottom. As the main cast of characters moved through the Third, it became obvious that the land and its people are not treated fairly or equally compared to other worlds. All residents including the newest cast member and princess Panzy are required to wear collars that can track their every movement.

While the necklaces have already been shown to be the work of an incredibly evil government, episode 7 reveals just how sinister they are. In what is probably the most moving scene in Dragon Ball Daima Still, Panzy tells the group that the collars are forced on anyone born in the Third Demon Worldand those who refuse are killed. As the wearers grow, the collars grow alongside them so they can never be removed. Upon examining the one around Panzy’s neck, Supreme Kai deduces that Dr. Arinsu must have been its creator.

Fortunately, Supreme Kai harnesses the magic needed to remove the evil necklaces, and does so for Panzy, who shows immense gratitude. Before this moment, it was clear that Dr. Arinsu was untrustworthy to some extent, but showing that she was responsible for creating Dragon ballYasmin’s most evil invention proves how evil she really is. The moment is also a reminder that the heroes’ scientist himself is capable of great and powerful inventionsand they’re lucky she’s not evil herself.

The heroes are lucky Bulma is on their side

Bulma is often an unsung hero

Although Bulma has largely retained her original role in Dragon ball After the shift from adventure to action, his many inventions came in handy for Goku and the rest of the cast. There are endless examples of her being an unsung hero; no one would have been able to get to Namek without Bulma’s help, Trunks wouldn’t have been able to travel to the past and warn about the Androids, the Dragon Balls would be incredibly difficult to find, and so on.

Although she stays out of the fight, it’s not an exaggeration to say that Bulma is one of Dragon ballthe most important charactersand the heroes are incredibly lucky that Capsule Corp’s renowned scientist is on their side. Selling as DaimaArinsu made evil use of his powers of invention, keeping an entire demon world on tracking collars. It’s a little scary to think what Bulma might be able to do with her own inventions.

It was a little uncertain during Dragon ballIn previous sections, whether Bulma would be completely kind, given that she unloaded several bullets into Goku, then a child, in her first appearance. Fortunately, she became not only kind and caring, but also an integral member of the Z-Fighter cast.

Bulma was bad once and it was a problem

GT has already hinted at the destructive power of an evil Bulma

It might be scary to imagine what an evil Bulma would be capable of, but Dragon Ball GT already did this so we wouldn’t have to, making the scientist evil during his Baby saga. The enemy that gives the bow its name was capable of possessing people’s bodies and using them for acts of destruction. And while he may have turned Goten, Trunks, and Gohan against Goku, none of the three were as dangerous as when he took control of Bulma.

Putting to use your scientific skill and genius, Bulma created a Blutz wave generator which recreated and amplified the energy that allows Saiyans to transform into Giant Apes. Because Baby was using Vegeta’s body as a host, he underwent a monstrous transformation that gave even Super Saiyan 4 Goku problems after using Bulma’s invention. While Dr. Arinsu’s collars are morally evil, Bulma has already created something that acted as a direct threat to Earth’s greatest warrior.

Bulma is a good person, and luckily for Goku and the others, her many creations are a consistent help in their battles. As Dragon Ball Daima continues, however, it’s likely that Dr. Arinsu will take on a larger role in the story and may just show how evil her scientific abilities are. Vegeta and Piccolo have just landed in the Demon Realm with Bulma along for the journey, and if the situation calls for it, the two scientists may have to fight a battle of inventions.

Dragon Ball DAIMA is the fifth series overall in the action-adventure anime franchise. It features most of the classic cast members as aged versions of themselves, including Goku, Vegeta, and Bulma. The series was announced at NYCC 2023, with creator Akira Toriyama returning to manage DAIMA.
