Before Welcome to Platteville Taken off on TLC, Barry lived a pretty quiet life away from any cameras. Barry and his wife, Kim, were fundamentalist Christians who wanted to take a step back from the modern world after living their own hectic lives. Although the rules may have relaxed a bit in the Plath household in recent years, the kids had a structured and religious upbringing.
