Taron Egerton has appeared in many films of varying quality during his impressive young career, and although he clearly has a long way to go, he has already built up an impressive filmography. He's taken on some iconic action hero roles, played famous real-life figures, appeared in animated projects, and more. Billionaire Boys Club (2018)
As Dean Karny
James Cox Billionaire Boys Club is based on the real group of the same name. In the 1980s, a group of young people attempt to carry out their own get-rich-quick plan through a Ponzi scheme. Although they may briefly enjoy the fruits of their illegal actions, things quickly spiral out of control, causing the young men to become embroiled in a murder conspiracy as the reality of their crimes becomes impossible to ignore. Egerton plays Dean Karny, one of the members of the “club” and a key figure in the crime story.
Egerton does a good job bringing a sinister quality to his character while keeping him as a down-to-earth person. However, his performance is let down by the rest of the film being somewhat forgettable. In trying to be a Martin Scorsese-style detective saga about the corruption of wealth and power, Billionaire Boys Club looks like a pale imitator. The film was also a financial failure, mainly because Kevin Spacey's involvement meant that few cinemas showed the film, and it was panned by critics, even winning a special Razzie Award.

Robin Hood (2018)
Like Robin Hood
There have been so many Robin Hood movies over the years, with everyone from Errol Flynn to Kevin Costner to Russell Crowe taking on the legendary folk hero. While Taron Egerton would be an interesting new actor to add to this list, he is unfortunately saddled with what is considered one of the worst Robin Hood films. Otto Bathurst's ambitious retelling of the Robin Hood legend follows the outlaw's adventure in an original story of sorts, with the young outlaw being trained by Little John (Jamie Foxx) to take on the Sheriff of Nottingham .
Taron Egerton gives a solid performance as Robin Hood, but is ultimately disappointed by the film's blandness and predictability.
Despite its $100 million budget and talented cast, the 2018 film Robin Hood It disappoints because the story doesn't bring anything new to the classic tale other than modern special effects and action sequences. Taron Egerton gives a solid performance as Robin Hood, but is ultimately disappointed by the film's blandness and predictability.

Legend (2015)
As “Mad Teddy” Smith
Legend is a crime thriller that adapts John Pearson's biography The profession of violence: the rise and fall of the Kray twins. Tom Hardy pulls double duty, playing the two legendary mobster twins in the story of their incredible rise to power and fame as influential figures in the London underworld, while being torn apart by their feuds and explosive tempers.. Taron Egerton has a supporting role in the film as “Mad Teddy” Smith, one of the Kray twins' henchmen who was rumored to have had a sexual relationship with Ronnie, as portrayed in Legend.
The real reason to watch Legend it's Hardy's incredible performance. He completely disappears into both roles, making the audience completely forget that he is an actor in both roles. However, in addition to leadership performance, Legend doesn't have much to offer the gangster film genre. It's pretty standard, with nothing wrong with it, but very little that helps it stand out.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)
As Gary “Eggsy” Unwin
Taron Egerton reprized his breakout role, working again with writer-director Matthew Vaughn Kingsman: The Golden Circle. The King the sequel sees the return of Eggsy (Egerton) as he deals with the Kingsman organization being wiped out by a powerful new enemy. Seeking revenge and to take down a sinister drug kingpin (Julianne Moore), Egerton is forced to join forces with Kingsman's American counterpart, Statesman, while also revealing that his former mentor, Harry, is alive.
The Golden Circle continue the Kingsman the franchise's high-octane action as it straddles the line between homage and parody of the spy genre. However, the film never manages to strike the right tone, with Moore and a cameo from Elton John embracing the madness of this world, while Egerton's performance and some of the subject matter suggest a more serious approach. It's a fun but uneven adventure.

Sing (2016)
Like Johnny
There were a few occasions when Targon Egerton showed off his singing abilities, with the Sing movies being an early indicator. Written and directed by Garth Jennings, Sing is an animated comedy about Buster Moon, an anthropomorphic koala who holds a singing competition to keep his theater from closing. Taron Egerton voices Johnny, a teenage gorilla who loves to sing but he's worried about what his mafia, sexist father would think.
About that may have little substance, Sing is an undeniably fun and uplifting watch, full of hits performed by its cast, including Matthew McConaughey and Scarlett Johansson. Johnny's relationship with his father brings emotional weight to Singand Egerton's version of “I'm Still Standing” gave a glimpse of what was to come with his future role as Elton John in Rocket Man.

Sing 2 (2021)
Like Johnny
The mix of cute animals, a star-studded voice cast, and pop songs helped make Sing a huge hit, so it's no surprise that it was quickly followed by a sequel. Sing 2 sees Buster Moon's troupe of performers attempt to present a spectacular space-themed musical in Redshore City, the Las Vegas of Sing universe. However, the success of their show requires them to convince a reclusive rock star to return to the stage.
Sing 2 It follows a similar formula to the original film and once again delivers a charming and entertaining story with hilarious moments and stunning visuals. Egerton's Johnny faces a crisis of confidence during Sing 2 as he struggles with the show's choreographybut the ongoing tension between him and his dance instructor, Adam Buxton's Klaus Kickenklober, makes for the film's best musical sequence.

Tetris (2023)
As Henk Rogers
Of Blackberry to AirMany films have been made recently that explore the origins behind companies' biggest products that have become reality. Tetris stars Egerton as Henk Rogers, a man who has become obsessed with building a new video gamebut it has to overcome many obstacles, making agreements between the USA, Japan and Russia.
However, as compelling as the story is, Egerton is the real standout with his performance…
The film is a fun and compelling look at a piece of pop culture history that is much more complicated than people might have originally imagined. However, as compelling as the story is, Egerton is the real standout with his performance, as he combines his funny charisma and his ability to play a reserved and likable everyman with a lot of ambition.

Continuation (2024)
As Ethan Kopek
Taron Egerton's latest film immediately establishes itself as one of his most entertaining. The Netflix original thriller Continue stars Egerton as Ethan, a TSA agent who works at an airport during the incredibly busy Christmas travel day. The busy day is interrupted when Ethan is contacted by a mysterious stranger who tells him to allow a certain bag to pass through security without checking or else someone Ethan loves will be killed.
The film is a thrilling, intelligent and captivating ride that mixes emotions and Christmas spirit in the style of Die Hard. Jason Bateman has a prominent role as the film's villain, but Egerton is forced to carry much of the film with his performance as the grounded hero. He stands out for playing an ordinary guy placed in an extraordinary situation, making the audience root for him the entire time.
4
Eddie the Eagle (2015)
As Eddie Edwards
After his prominent role in The KingTaron Egerton showed everyone that he was an actor with incredible versatility in Eddie the Eagle. This sports film based on a true story sees Egerton as Eddie Edwards, a British athlete who in 1988 became Britain's first Olympic ski jumper in six decades. Although Eddie's ambition and optimism are high, his talent is questionable. However, with the help of his dedicated trainer, Bronson Peary (Hugh Jackman), he seeks to show the world what he can do.
Eddie the Eagle is a classic underdog sports story, and although it reuses typical clichés of the genre, it's a sweet and touching film that can be enjoyed by viewers of all ages. Egerton is completely captivating as the positive man who ignores that he is a laughing stock to some and is ready to prove everyone wrong.
3
Testament of Youth (2014)
As Edward Brittain
Taron Egerton makes his film debut in this gripping story of the First World War from a unique perspective. Testament of Youth adapts Vera Brittain's memoir of the same name, recalling her experience during World War I, when she postponed her studies to serve as a nurse while her brother, her love interest, and her admirer went to war. Egerton plays Edward, Vera's younger brotherwho bravely joins the army while keeping a secret that he ends up confiding in his sister.
The brutally honest account of war shows the pain loved ones suffered when these young men fought on the battlefields. Alicia Vikander's lead role as Vera was a standout for many critics, but Egerton also impressed many, earning a nomination at the London Film Festival for Best British Newcomer.
2
Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014)
As Gary “Eggsy” Unwin
Based on the comics by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar, Kingsman: The Secret Service is a high-octane spy film that pays homage to the older entries in the genre while bringing its own unique style to the table. The Secret Service follows Eggsy, played by Taron Egerton, an unlikely new Kingsman recruit who is thrown on a mission to save the world from a megalomaniac billionaire who intends to solve Earth's environmental problems by killing most of its human population.
The Secret Service offers a genuine alternative to other popular spy films, thanks in part to its wild action, including the murderous rampage in Harry Hart's (Colin Firth) church. However, Egerton is the real star of the show, making for an excellent audience surrogate as he is introduced to this complex world of espionage.. Egerton is able to show incredible versatility in the role, playing Eggsy's realistic and rebellious youth, as well as the gentle espionage aspects that come after. The film was a box office success and began Egerton's career as a leading man.
1
Rocket Man (2019)
Like Elton John
Taron Egerton took on his most challenging role in Rocket Man and proved to everyone that he was more than up to the task. The film is a wild and fun musical biopic of Elton John, with Egerton taking on the role of the iconic singer, following his journey to success, an exploration of his sexuality and an honest look at the darkest moments of his life.
The film avoids being the typical biopic by using John's songs to create musical sequences that mix reality and fantasy. Commendably, Egerton sings Elton John songs in Rocket Man himself, rather than lip-synching, and masterfully captures the iconic musician's flamboyant style. It's a charismatic performance that also hits some heavy places throughout the story, earning Taron Egerton one Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
