Star Wars may have embraced streaming in recent years, but many of the franchise’s TV shows are available to order on Blu-ray. Domestic media releases have always been a big part Star Wars history, with fans eagerly awaiting the films to be made available in the next major format. Physical releases of Star Wars The films are also highly coveted because of the various special edition changes George Lucas made with each release, making older sets the only way to experience different versions of the films.
The recent Star Wars TV shows, in turn, were exclusive to Disney+ for several years. Created and executive produced by George Lucas, Star Wars: The Clone Wars fills the three-year gap between Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. The series marks the first appearance of Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan, who would become one of the most popular Star Wars characters. The first Star Wars TV show produced by Disney, Star Wars Rebels was made by the same creative team behind Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Set five years earlier A New Hopea young street thief named Ezra Bridger meets the Ghost crew, led by former Jedi Padawan Kanan Jarrus. When Ezra discovers he is Force-sensitive, Kanan agrees to train him as a Jedi, and together they fight the Empire alongside his crew. While the first season is quite good on its own, later seasons feature more connections to The Clone Warsclosing some unresolved issues Star Wars plots.
