Netflix Meet me next Christmas includes a soulful soundtrack filled with Pentatonix Christmas tunes and lesser-known but equally fun tunes for the season. The romantic comedy follows a woman named Layla who tries to get a ticket to Pentatonix’s sold-out Christmas Eve show so she can meet the man of her dreams. Netflix’s first Christmas movie of the 2024 season immediately became a hit with viewers because of its fun premise, excellent acting, and impressive soundtrack.

However Meet me next ChristmasThe cast is full of actors with experience in singing and rapping, the only cast members who sing during the film are Pentatonix – the acapella pop group who play an exaggerated, fictionalized version of themselves. That doesn’t stop the film from having A+ songs and a fun lip-syncing and dancing competition. Combining this with a phenomenal soundtrack by Dara Taylor, Meet Me Next Christmas is the perfect choice for anyone who loves the holidays.

“It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Pentatonix: Pentatonix’s music plays when the title card of Meet me next Christmas appears. It continues throughout shots of Christmas, Pentatonix singing and Chicago.

“Christmas Magic” by Summer Payton: Layla and James talk about their Paris Christmas dreams, sharing that it’s at the top of their wish lists, while Summer Payton’s music plays in the background.

“This Christmas” by Pentatonix: After James admits that he doesn’t know the band Pentatonix, Layla plays the song “This Christmas” for James, and they talk about the song feeling Christmassy.

“You’re My Favorite Holiday (feat. BB St. Clair)” by Wolves: Meet me next Christmas Fast forward a year to Layla working in Poughkeepsie while the Wolves music plays. “Santa Claus” by Kiki Halliday and KOVAS: Layla and Teddy lip sync to Kiki Halliday and KOVAS’ Christmas song while dancing. At the end of the performance, they unexpectedly kiss and the audience goes wild.

“Prelude from Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major”: Kevin plays this classic song and then starts beatboxing over it. The scene continues when Teddy arrives at the performance venue to play Santa Claus at the Pentatonix concert.

“Hallelujah” by Pentatonix: Pentatonix asks Teddy if he likes Layla while the group’s version of the Leonard Cohen song plays in the background. It continues during a montage where she goes to the theater to go backstage and confess her feelings to Teddy, James appears with roses and Teddy dresses up for the show.

“Meet Me Next Christmas” by Pentatonix: Pentatonix’s eponymous Christmas song plays during a montage at the Netflix film’s climax. Layla runs away from James. Then his girlfriend approaches, apologizes for being late and they kiss. Layla runs around trying to find Teddy, but instead finds a drunk Santa. She then tries to enter through the back door and is stopped by the backstage guard. Teddy goes up in the elevator in the next stage, even though he’s terrified, because he wants to make a big gesture to win Layla over.

“Here Comes Santa Claus” by Pentatonix: Pentatonix sings the song “Here Comes Santa Claus” on stage while Layla tries to convince the guard to let her backstage. Teddy is lifted to the top of the stage. He is terrified and does not come down during the musical cue. Then, Pentatonix gets the audience to cheer him on with the entire group singing the song and clapping.

“Santa Claus, Please Santa” by Pentatonix: At the end of Meet me next ChristmasTeddy and Layla join the group on stage for the song and kiss under the snow.

While the Meet me next Christmas the soundtrack is fantastic and perfect for putting the viewer in the holiday mood, many of the film’s songs are difficult to find for streaming, only appearing on YouTube or Spotify. It’s possible they could be added to other platforms if the film is successful. Happily, All of Pentatonix’s songs from the rom-com are available on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Soundcloud, and iHeart Radio. Some, but not all, Pentatonix music is also available on Pandora.

As with other Netflix films, the soundtrack is available in album form under the title Meet Me Next Christmas (Netflix film soundtrack).
