When every song from the Our Little Secret soundtrack plays in the movie
The Christmas spirit is very much alive in the soundtrack of our little secret
“Go, Santa, go!” by Howell-Freundlich Overdrive: the first song in Our little secret plays when Avery and Logan arrive at her father’s house, where they are throwing her a going away party. The music continues playing as Avery talks to Logan’s mother and grandmother (and the latter shares a little too much about her taste in men), and Logan and Avery’s father talk about Logan’s relationship with Avery. The music stops as Avery’s father gives a toast and Logan takes control with dire results.
“Summer” by Calvin Harris: after Avery and Logan broke up in front of everyone at the party, Our little secret cuts to a montage of major events (mostly pop culture) that happened over the next ten years. The montage is accompanied by “Summer”, by Calvin Harris, and among the events shown are the ice bucket challenge, the success of the Stranger Thingsthe Notre Dame cathedral fire, the Bernie Sanders meme and more.
“Tis the Season” by Rehya Stevens: this is the song that plays at Erica’s house when Cam and Avery arrive. The party has already started when they arrive, which only makes Avery more nervous. The music continues playing as Avery drinks (or more like sips) a glass of champagne and Erica makes a passive-aggressive comment about her jeans. The music stops when Logan and Cassie arrive.
“The Happiest Christmas Tree” by Aliana Lohan: Very appropriately, “The Happiest Christmas Tree” starts playing as Avery and Logan head out to get the Christmas tree for Erica’s house. The music plays as the camera shows the location where they are going to get the tree and Avery is talking on the phone, but right when she hangs up, the music stops to bring the attention back to Avery and Logan’s dynamic.
“Celebration” – Erica takes everyone to church, and as part of Logan’s efforts to get Erica to like Avery, he signs her up to read during the service. However, Avery eats Callum’s THC gummies that she found in his jacket and is too high to read what she should. Avery starts improvising and uses lines from “Celebration” by Kool & the Gang before the church choir begins singing the iconic song. Fortunately, the attendees follow along and Avery’s impromptu speech is a big hit with the community.
“Other Side” by ED. 1T: Avery, Cam, Logan and Cassie go to a bar at night and this song accompanies them as they arrive and as they sit down and order their drinks. Cassie points out that Logan is acting strange, but thinks it’s because he’s away from home for Christmas, and then Sophie arrives. Sophie talks to Avery for a bit before Avery takes a call outside, where she sees through the window that Sophie and Cam are still very much in love with each other.
“Jingle Jangle” by Rehya Stevens: this classic Christmas song plays as Cam, Avery, Cassie, and Logan walk down the street before splitting up to buy their respective gifts from Secret Santa. Cam is acting strange and Cassie and Avery point this out, while Cassie tells Logan that she likes black lace, implying that’s what he should buy her for Christmas.
“We Wish You a Merry Christmas” by Danny Infantino: the classic above is immediately followed by another. Logan follows Avery to a store to tell her that Cam lied to her about when he got home the night before, while Cam told Logan that Avery doesn’t like it when he comes home late after drinking.
“Light On” by Maggie Rogers: After the whole Christmas debacle, Avery and Logan continue their lives apart. This song starts playing like Our little secret shows Logan back at work and reminiscing about the moments he shared with Avery days earlier. It continues playing as he visits his mother and grandmother and Avery drinks wine alone in her apartment as she also reminisces about the good times she recently had with Logan. He also follows Avery as she unpacks at her family’s home and during Logan and Avery’s respective New Year’s celebrations.
“Thanks To Me” by the Mears Brothers: this song plays softly in the background as Logan arrives at a barbecue joint to meet with his boss and, to his surprise, Stan, who received his construction proposal thanks to Avery insisting that Erica gave it to him. Logan agrees to work for Stan, finally freeing himself from his square and not-very-nice boss.
“It’s Christmas” by Amber Woodhouse: the last song in Our little secret starts playing when Erica is in Stan’s car and tells Avery to share the cookies they just gave her. It was also revealed that Stan and Erica are now together (and very happy). The music continues playing as Logan and Avery head back inside, as they are now back together and living in Avery’s family’s house. A final animated sequence shows their wedding, accompanied by this song.
