An extra level of surveillance can be set up around your base in Rust if you use some CCTV cameras in your home and activate them with the correct identification codes. The added protection these cameras offer helps alert you to dangers in advance. A CCTV device may seem a little broken, but those lucky enough to get one won't be able to deny the benefits of this technology.
Before placing any CCTV camera, you must first build a computer station which unlocks the hidden item on all servers. Like many of the best base defenses in RustThere are a few steps you should follow to get the most out of this item. A camera can be found near an accident site, in an airdropor inside loot boxes scattered throughout the sandbox world you explore. An essential item you need on your base to set up a CCTV camera is some type of electrical output. This will power the machine and allow it to operate smoothly.
How to Make a Rusty Computer Station
Build a platform on your trash island
The project for the construction of a Computing Station is one of the game's default plansthat asks you to join 20 high-quality metals, 1 aiming computer, 1 broadcasterand 1 receiver. These ingredients can be taken to a Level 1 Workbench to create the right Station, in which you will probably already need to do many other basic items Rust during your adventure.
Each of these parts is found in any Supply deliveries or inside Hidden Chests spread across several Monument locations. Once you've built your own computer station, place it somewhere in your base, well protected from outside enemies. Rust. You can enter different ID codes on the main station screen to get different views of your map from the CCTV cameras you have configured.

The codes you should know

The Underwater Laboratory in Rust also has its own set of camera codes. All of these codes need a four-digit indicator at the end of them, which is procedurally generated for each player's map.. To find this random code, you will need to gain access to the Underwater Laboratory. Most of the time there will be a CCTV station locked with a key card. Accessing this room will provide the necessary code. After purchasing it, simply add the numbers to the end of any of the camera codes below. For example, HALLWAY he would be CORRIDOR2837.
The same applies to the Abandoned Military Base codes, except they are replaced with each cleaning cycle. You can find them inside the communications tent of the Abandoned Military Basewhich is in the computer station.

As an additional security measure, any player can place their surveillance tools around their base from loose equipment found. When you use a CCTV camera in your home in Rustand have ways of examining others already on the map, you can be prepared for any threat that might knock on your door.
What to do if the codes don't work
Troubleshooting your codes
The biggest problem you will probably face is simply typing your code incorrectly. However, you can also run into problems if you forget to add the dynamic ending to any of the more randomly generated codes. Remember that the Abandoned Military Base codes will change and that both these codes and those of the Underwater Laboratories must be found in situ. Finding them will be potentially difficult, although you should keep in mind that in rare cases they may not be there.
Additionally, your cameras must have access to power and be connected to it. If you are unable to use the camera, it is likely that your camera is not receiving the power it needs to function. You can also use a hammer to adjust the position of a placed camera if necessary. Alternatively, the computer station requires no power, so you don't have to worry about connecting it to the network. Cameras are also destructiblewith 150 HP, so keep that in mind before hitting it too much.
With all that said, CCTV cameras can makes it much easier to explore the situation around your base and other areas before setting out on an adventure. Be careful with cameras that you can set up yourself, as other players can hack them if they guess your identifier correctly. Set something that you think won't be easily guessed and check your cameras when you get the chance. And that's all you need to know about CCTV cameras in Rust.
