Every Main Character and Actor Who Left SWAT (and Why)

SCAM It had a long term, which makes it susceptible to actor departures. As a result, several main characters left SCAM completely or had their roles reduced to cameos. CBS originally canceled SCAM after Season 7, but the network unexpectedly reversed the decision shortly after. Unfortunately, the planned cancellation meant that several characters were written out of the series prematurely.

As a result of the reversed cancellation, SCAM Season 8 features fewer main characters than usual and even had to backtrack on some major decisions to accommodate the surprise season. THE SCAM cast still features strong and loyal team membersbut there are more faces missing than usual. Fortunately, even with the character’s departure, SCAM it has maintained its exciting dynamic and uses the departures of previous characters to build future seasons.

Stephanie Sigman as Jessica Cortez

Jessica Cortez left in season 2

Stephanie Sigman joined SCAM in season 1 as Captain Jessica Cortez. Throughout the first half of Season 1, she and Hondo (Shemar Moore) had a secret relationship that became complicated when Cortez became Hondo’s commander. The two officially broke up in episode 13 when the commissioner caught the two together and they both chose careers over their relationship. Their relationship was short-lived, but it was a significant detail in the first season because it helped define Hondo’s character and future relationships.

Cortez left in SCAM season 2 finale in good relations with your team. She left to work undercover for the FBI and although the position was temporary, season three revealed that her absence was permanent. Although her departure from the show was unexpected given her strong bond with the team, Cortez’s happy ending made up for the surprising exit.

Sigman left SCAM to pursue other projects and has since appeared in several shows and films, and even appeared as a voice actor in Royal Cookies. Sigman also gave birth shortly after leaving SCAMwhat it means his decision to leave was professional and personal. Despite her short time on the series, Cortez will remain a memorable character due to her influential effect on her team.

Lina Esco as Christina “Chris” Alonso

Chris Alonso left in season 5

Christina “Chris” Alonso was an essential character in SCAM during the six seasons she appeared on the show. It was first presented on SCAM pilot, and she was deployed as the LAPD’s first female SWAT officer. Chris officially left the series to help vulnerable immigrants safely gain asylum. Just before his departure, Chris also began a relationship with Jim Street (Alex Russell), which took years to make. The romantic development made his exit even more disappointing.

Lina Esco left SCAM in good terms to pursue other things. Although she has not appeared on the show since leaving, her character has been mentioned several times by others SCAM team members. Since she and Street are still dating, it’s possible that Esco could return as a guest star. Chris and Jim’s strong relationship could even lead to a wedding episode in the future. SCAM which could also feature other departed characters.

Kenny Johnson as Dominic Luca

Dominic Luca was demoted in season 7

Kenny Johnson played Dominic Luca in SCAM as the main character from the show’s premiere until the 6th season. He was later demoted to guest star in season 7 and officially left the show before season 8. Johnson’s Luca was, unfortunately, one of the victims of CBS’s decision to reverse SCAMcancellationbut his character received a fitting send-off. Given his importance to the show, it was good to see that Luca was able to say goodbye to his teammates and accept the abandonment of his career in SCAM

Luca’s reduced role in SCAM Season 7 was the result of an anti-terrorism training session in London that turned into a vacation. The absence suited Luca’s character well, but when he returned he was faced with another challenge. At the end of season 7, Luca was shot and his injury prevented him from being able to play any more SCAMphysical test. For your safety and that of others, Luca was forced to resign from the team. THE SCAM the renewal for season 8 meant that Luca could have stayed for another season, but unfortunately he was written out of the show in season 7.

Alex Russell as Jim Street

Jim Street was demoted in season 7

Alex Russell’s Jim Street was another victim of CBS’s decision to create SCAM Season 8, as Street received the end of his story in Season 7. Street ended up leaving SCAM return to your old job at the Long Beach Police Department. He was originally recruited into the LBPD when he was just an officer and is now returning as the team’s new leader. The change is an exciting development for his character, but disappointing for the SCAM team.

Street’s departure was a disappointment when CBS announced it would renew SCAM again because it meant he could not appear in the show as a main character after renewal. Street appears briefly in SCAM Season 7, but his role is greatly reduced, as he already left for the LBPD at the beginning of Season 7. As for a possible return for Russell in SCAM Season 8, Russell’s co-star Shemar Moore said this could happen since Street is still alive in the SCAM universe.

Russell left SCAM as a result of the planned cancellation, in order to give his character a good ending. Although plans for the show have since changed Russell’s early departure gave Street some well-deserved closure. Knowing that he was still in a relationship with Chris when he left also left some hope that the two could return briefly via a cameo in a future season. Since Chris and Street are still good friends from SCAM team, and the two have been mentioned since their departures, there is still a small chance that they could reappear briefly.

Peter Onorati as Jeffrey “Jack” Mumford

Mumford was only a main character briefly

Jack Mumford, by Peter Onorati, was the main character in SCAM in season 1 and was often seen at odds with Hondo. Jack led a separate team from Hondo’s, and even though the two groups often worked together, Hondo and Jack struggled to deal with each other’s different styles. Although Jack was a recurring character in Season 1, he was demoted to guest star in later seasons and has since only appeared briefly in Seasons 2, 4, and 7, with a smaller role each time.

Jack’s appearances in season 2 were intended as preparation for his retirementas episode 19 revealed that he had decided to leave SCAM after he was shot and questioned his career. As a result, his cameos in seasons 4 and 7 have a different tone and show Jack more as a helpful aide to the SCAM team than an official consultant. Season 7 especially showed Jack as more of a friend than a colleague, as Season 7 Episode 11, ‘Whispers’, showed him, Hicks, and Buck laughing and reminiscing about the past together at a local bar.

Although no official reason was given for Onorati’s increasingly limited role and subsequent departure from the show, he was probably written to explore other characters’ stories. Onorati had originally shared a lot of screen time with Moore’s Hondo, and it was probably a creative decision to focus more on Hondo’s team rather than both teams at the same time. Although Onorati has appeared less and less over the years, he remains an important character for SCAM

Rochelle Aytes as Nichelle Carmichael

Nichelle has been a major recurring character

Nichelle Carmichael, by Rochelle Aytes, is one of the most important characters in SCAM because of his connection to Hondo. Nichelle and Hondo started dating in SCAM season 3right after meeting for the first time. The two shared a strained relationship for a few seasons and eventually split briefly, as Hondo was not emotionally or physically available for the relationship Nichelle wanted due to the nature of his work. The two remained friends and in season 5 they got back together after resolving their problems.

Although Nichelle was only a guest star in seasons 3 through 5, she became a main character in SCAM in season 6. As her relationship with Hondo became more serious, she became a vital character in the series. Season 6 also revealed that Hondo and Nichelle got married and had their first daughter, Vivian. Their relationship was set for a happy ending when Season 7 ended, but CBS’ decision to continue the show thwarted what would have been a good ending for the couple.

ONE SCAM casting update revealed that Rochelle Aytes would not be returning to her role as Nichelle in SCAM season 8, as Aytes wanted to pursue other projects. Nichelle’s departure is disappointing news because it leaves things uncertain for her and Hondo’s future. The best option to explain her absence is to just leave her in the background of the episodes, in the hopes that she might appear briefly in the future. SCAM seasons. Given its almost fairytale ending with Hondo and his daughter, writing her out of the show would be cruel.
