The Mandalorian Season 1
Google Trends Score: 100
Unsurprisingly, The Mandalorian season 1 is the Star Wars show with the highest Google Trends score for the past five years, topping the charts with a score of 100. The Mandalorian is clearly an incredibly successful program, given that it will be the first Star Wars show to make the leap to the big screen and is next to be released Star Wars upcoming films, after a gap of years. Even before the show became a fan favorite, it was getting a lot of attention.
Perhaps the most exciting aspect The Mandalorian was its distinction from all that came before in Star Wars. Many of Star Wars previous programs such as Star Wars: The Clone Warsthey were quite innovative and popular, but they removed many of the same characters and kept the focus on the Jedi. The Mandalorian was truly unique and was billed as a bounty hunter show – something audiences expected to see in the franchise.
This only got better when Grogu, then called The Child on the show and Baby Yoda in the fan base, won the hearts of most viewers. Even with all the shows that have been released since The Mandalorian premiered in November 2019, it makes sense that this show would continue to stay on top. As Star Wars first live-action TV show, The Mandalorian occupies a very special place in the franchise.
2
The Mandalorian season 2
Google Trends Score: 93
After the success of The Mandalorian season 1, The Mandalorian season 2 ranks second in terms of Google Trends score. The show took a bit of a dip, falling from a rating of 100 to 93 between seasons 1 and 2. The Mandalorian initial success, this change makes sense.
The Mandalorian Season 2 still beats all the others Star Wars TV show released in the last 5 years with a score on Google Trends, confirming its position as the most popular Star Wars project in recent years. As a sequel, it also makes sense that the series' second season wouldn't perform as well as its predecessor. Given the much lower scores of some other Star Wars shows, even with this slight drop, this Google Trends score for The Mandalorian Season 2 continues to be impressive.
3
Obi Wan Kenobi
Google Trends Score: 69
Next highest Star Wars The TV show's score on Google Trends is Obi Wan Kenobiwhich was released in May 2021. Although the show comes in third place overall, there was a significant drop in scores between The Mandalorian season 1 and 2 and Obi Wan Kenobi. While The Mandalorian season 1 had a score of 100 and season 2 had a score of 93, Obi-Wan Kenobi The Google Trends score is just 69.
The show's popularity compared to other recent shows Star Wars shows may be due in part to the love that many Star Wars audiences have for the prequel trilogy era and the prominent actors in the prequels, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen are chief among them. Obi Wan Kenobi saw the return of McGregor and Christensen, including a new on-screen reunion between Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi, adding to the excitement for the show. However, the drop in scores reinforces a declining interest in Star Wars shows lately.
4
Ahsoka
Google Trends Score: 43
The Google Trends score for Ahsoka is the fourth largest, with 43. Although this means Ahsoka surpassed many others Star Wars shows by this metric, it also represents a huge difference in the level of interest there was in The Mandalorian against Ahsoka. As Obi Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka The Google Trends score likely benefited from the connection the show has to previous Star Wars projects – in Ahsoka case, The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.
As Obi Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka The Google Trends score likely benefited from the connection the show has to previous Star Wars projects.
Ahsoka was the live-action debut of several Rebels characters, including Hera Syndulla, Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren, who aroused much interest. It was also a continuation of Ahsoka Tano's story, and it is widely considered one of the Star Wars best characters. Although this score is lower The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2 and Obi Wan Kenobirepresents a positive change in the downward trend for Star Wars generally shows. It was also clear enough to renew the show, as Ahsoka season two is currently underway.
5
The Acolyte
Google Trends Score: 31
The Acolyte premiered in June of this year, and while the show introduced a number of exciting new characters, concepts, and planets, it was also met with considerable backlash and controversy, ending with its cancellation. Perhaps it is not shocking, in light of this story, that The Acolyte Google Trends score is one of the lowest among Star Wars live action TV shows released in the last 5 yearsat 31. Like other inclusions on this list, The Acolyte The Google Trends score does not directly represent the quality of the program.
For numerous reasons, The Acolyte faced barrages of criticism and vitriol online, including online harassment directed at many of the actors. This undoubtedly had some influence on the Google Trends score, as well as The Acolyte cancellation. Maybe in the long run, The Acolyte will receive similar treatment to the prequel trilogy and will become more beloved over time. Currently, however, The Acolyte The lower Google Trends score suggests the show failed to attract interest on a larger scale.
6
The Mandalorian season 3
Google Trends Score: 30
Surprisingly, The Mandalorian season 3 had one of the lowest Google Trends scores ever Star Wars live action programs in the last 5 yearsmarking a huge difference between this season and the first two installations of The Mandalorian. Considering that seasons 1 and 2 had scores of 100 and 93 respectively The Mandalorian season 3 only has a score of 30 on Google Trends. This is congruent with much of the discourse on The Mandalorian Season 3, which suggests this most recent season is the show's least popular.
Questions raised about this season range from audience dislike for Din Djarin's arc in the season to complaints that there was no clear or compelling plot. It will be interesting to see what this means for the franchise moving forward, especially with The Mandalorian and Grogu apparently the next step for the show. Currently, it is not yet known whether The Mandalorian season 4 is coming.
7
The Book of Boba Fett
Google Trends Score: 25
Although Boba Fett is a beloved Star Wars character and had numerous appearances throughout the Star Wars timeline, The Book of Boba Fett wasn't a very well-received show, and its Google Trends score reflects that. The second lowest of all scores for Star Wars live action TV shows, The Book of Boba Fett has a Google Trends score of just 25. Despite incredible cameos from some of Star Wars greatest heroes, including Luke Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano, The Book of Boba Fett it was generally not a success with the public.
It is difficult to identify where exactly Star Wars went wrong with The Book of Boba Fettalthough it is possible Star Wars audiences have something of a resurrection fatigue, especially after Palpatine's return in The Rise of Skywalker. With The Book of Boba Fett released just two years after the film, perhaps viewers weren't ready to embrace yet another big Star Wars character miraculously returning from the 'dead'. Whatever the case, The Book of Boba Fett remains the second lowest position Star Wars show in terms of Google Trends in recent years.
8
Andor
Google Trends Score: 24
Disconcertingly, Andor is the lowest rated live action Star Wars show in terms of Google Trends score over the past few years. Although it didn't seem to get the recognition it deserved when it was released, Andor today it is very well regarded among Star Wars TV shows and, like AhsokaIt is confirmed that there will be another season. However, Andor it has a Google Trends score of just 24.
Andor it has a Google Trends score of just 24.
This reinforces once again that Google Trends is not even close to the only metric of a program's success or quality, as Andor is certainly among Star Wars best shows of recent years. It will be interesting to see how Andor season two performs on Google Trends based on this score, and as mentioned, Skeleton Crew scores are currently unknown. For now, however, Andor is shockingly the lowest rated live action Star Wars show in terms of Google Trends score.
