The next Dragon Age: The Veilguard is set to be the first title released in the franchise since 2014 Dragon Age: Inquisition. Taking place a decade after the previous installment, Veilguard Takes players back to the world of Thedas, III The elven god Solas’ nefarious plans spark a new quest Helmed by the mercenary adventurer Ruk. As is standard for the series, players create their own protagonists and provide them with starting factions and classes to fully establish them in Thedas before the journey begins.
Of the six separate factions players can choose from at the start of the game, All provide unique families for the slide. The families are available regardless of the slide’s in-game race or classand provide added flavor for players to draw on during their travels through Thedas.

The Gray Warden’s commitment to the war against Darkspawn takes a serious toll on their ranks, with Recruits often die during a deep blood magic ritual Known as The Joining which sees new Gray Wardens bond with Darkspawn to give them the ability to destroy Blights and protect them from Blight corruption. Players who choose for their slide to belong to this faction will receive the surname of Aldwir.
Shadow Dragons
Surname: Mercar
Another new Teviner faction, the Shadow Dragons Strongly opposed to slavery and oppressionTheir first mission is to help the former slaves in and around Tevinter’s capital Minratu. one of The guardThe companions, Neve Galus, a Tevinter mage and private investigator, is a shadow dragon determined to overthrow the corrupt rule in the region. If a player’s slide comes from the freedom-fighting faction, their character will be under the last name of Mercar.

Surname: Leidir
Considered the greatest treasure hunters in ThedasThe Lords of Fortune are an esteemed and colorful multi-racial guild who collect everything from cave treasure to monster bounties. Operating a powerful protection racket in Thedas dedicated to protecting the wealthy patrons who often fund and accompany the Lords of Fortune on their expeditions, the faction has built a small, if powerful, niche in the world of Dragon Age. If a player’s skate belongs to the live crew, they will be known by the last name of Ladir.
The mourning watch
Surname: Angel
Belonging to the Mortality, a politically powerful group of mages, members of the Grief Watch are the chosen few who guard the Grand Necropolis While also dealing with magical mishaps. Originating from Nevarra, a region in Thedas south of Tevinter, the Mourning Watch counts among its members prominent royals who often pay massive sums to the Mortality to mummify their bodies and protect them from the threat of post-mortem possession.
Emmrich Volkarin, one of Ruk’s companions in The guardis a member of the mourning watch. Rooks belonging to the Arcane Order of Guardians will pass through the family of Ingellvar.
Antivan Crows
Name: The Riva
Once a group of chantry monks who cultivated poisonous herbs at the local abbey, the Antiwan Crows have evolved into A sect powerful enough to challenge the aristocracy of their homeland. This powerful, largely elf-based faction relies on brutal training to perfect its recruits, many of whom are orphaned or once-enslaved. Rooks who are members of the Antivan Crows will be known as De Riva, a reference to one of the faction’s noble houses.
