If there's one thing Dragon Age What you know how to do is tell a good story. Throughout its four main installments, epic stories of ragtag teams overcoming impossible odds have thrilled and enchanted, leaving many wanting more adventures. Fortunately, in addition to brilliant games, there are some equally fun DLCs released for the first three titles in the series to keep the team's adventures going for a little while longer.
Since the franchise's inception, Dragon Age has provided its fans with a plethora of extra content, from full story expansions to gear and cosmetic items. The latest addition to the series won't have any DLC, although Dragon Age: The Veil Guard offered cool armor as a pre-order bonus as well as a free bonus Mass Effect- theme update. Only DLCs that feature story elements will be included here; however, there were some excellent smaller add-ons available, such as Origins' Party Gifts, InquisitionAvvar and Qunari mounts and decorations, and the famous Black Emporium.

The Darkspawn Chronicles - Dragon Age: Origins
A look at a dark alternate timeline
The Darkspawn Chronicles is a smart DLC, but somewhat specific to Dragon Age: Origins which takes place in an alternate timeline to the rest of the series. In the DLC, the Director died in Ostagar and the plot is seen from the Darkspawn's perspective as they attack Denerim late in the game. Following the Archdemon's orders is fun, as is devastating the capital of Ferelden, but it's hard not to feel a little guilty about killing so many beloved characters. That being said, this fun DLC is definitely worth playing at least once.

The Golems of Amgarrak - Dragon Age: Origins
A dark story steeped in dwarven lore
The Golems of Amgarrak is defined after the events of Origins and can be played before or after Awakenings. The plot sees Jerrik Dace asking the Director-Commander for help in finding Amgarrak Thaig and the golem research that was done there.
Of course, things don't go as planned and the research must be destroyed when it is revealed that the bodies of casteless dwarves were being used to create them, rather than stone or metal. Golems is a dark but interesting DLC that has gained a well-deserved reputation for its difficult Harvester boss fight.

Leliana's Song - Dragon Age: Origins
A look at who Leliana was before the game
From a DLC sequel to a prequel in Leliana's songwhich looked at the Orlesian bard's life before she became a sister of the Chantry and joined forces with Alistair and the Headmaster. The DLC takes place in Denerim and follows Leliana's final mission with her mentor Marjolaine and contextualizes the meeting with her during Origins. After being betrayed, Leliana finds an unlikely ally in the Revered Mother Dorotheawho will later be the next Divine, and discovers a new purpose in life. Overall, it's a nice prequel story that provides insight into Leliana.

The Exiled Prince - Dragon Age 2
A new companion and missions throughout the game
The Exiled Prince was a day one DLC for Dragon Age 2 and received a mixed reception from the fanbase. DLC offers a new companion and potential love interest in the form of Sebastian Vael, the third son of Starkhaven's ruling family and the only surviving member of a recent massacre.
Sebastian has missions in each act for Hawke to help him find out what really happened to his family and it ties in well with the main plot. Sebastian is an underrated and underused Dragon Age 2 companion who is often misinterpreted as boring or boring.

The Stone Prisoner - Dragon Age: Origins
New companions and lore of the dwarves
Like this The Exiled Prince, The Stone Prisoner added in a new party companion for Originsthis time a grumpy stone golem named Shale. Shale as a companion is worth the DLC alone, adding tons of new quips and fantastic one-liners with his unique take on the world. However, for fans of dwarven lore, The Stone Prisoner is a brilliant source of information, adding to the story of the First Plague and the fall of the thaig dwarves. Shale also adds extra content during the party's journey through the Deep Roads and their interactions with Paragon Caridin.

Return to Ostagar - Dragon Age: Origins
Brief but poignant to get closure
Return to Ostagar does exactly what it describes and returns the Warden, Alistair and the rest of the group to where their story began in the ruins of Ostagar, adding context to the overall story. This touching complement provides necessary closure and context for Loghain's actionsas well as extra information about King Cailan's broader political agenda. While there is some decent equipment among the ruins, like Cailan's Armor and Maric's Blade, it's the battle with the ogre that killed Cailan and Duncan that feels most satisfying.
8
Mark of the Assassin - Dragon Age 2
Fun, but leaving Hawke aside isn't worth it
Mark of the Assassin is a strange DLC, packed with story but somehow disconnected from the main plot of DA2. At any time, Hawke can “remember” the time they joined Tallis on an adventure in Orlais and travel to some beautiful locations outside of Kirkwall. The plot is simple, involving a robbery and offers a decent amount of Qunari lore. However, as the main purpose of the DLC is to serve as a tie-in to the web series Dragon Age: Redemption, Hawke acts as a sidekick while Tallis takes center stage as the main character..
7
Jaws of Hakkon - Dragon Age: Inquisition
A fascinating insight into Avvar culture
Hakkon Jaws was the first DLC for Inquisition and sets an excellent pattern as the Inquisitor searches for clues about the last Inquisitor, Ameridan. Ameridan is found frozen in time, trying to stop an invasion by an Avvar tribe and their god Hakkon.
Hakkon Jaws does a great job of fleshing out Avvar culture from its traditions to its relationship with spirits. Although the plot seems a bit separate from the main story of InquisitionThe DLC has a beautiful area to explore and plenty of quests to keep you busy.
6
Director's Fortress - Dragon Age: Origins
A must-play game for any Gray Warden fan
During the history of OriginsIt's often repeated that the Guardians don't have a good reputation in Ferelden, which can be a bit confusing considering the faction is presented in the game as the only one that can stop the Plague. However, all of this is explained in the brilliant Director's Fortress DLC, which delves into the actions of Ferelden's last Warden Commander and his rebellion against the throne.
In a grand old-fashioned dungeon crawl, the party must uncover the secrets of the Fortress, Soldier's Peak, and battle a demon-possessed corpse to retrieve it.
5
Awakenings - Dragon Age: Origins
Sets up characters and concepts for later games
Awakenings is the expansion to Origins and acts as a springboard between the events of the first game and what follows in DA2. The plot of Awakenings sees the new Director Commander of Ferelden trying to rebuild the Order's presence when they encounter a strange, talking Darkspawn.
While the story of Awakenings It's a great extra adventure for the Director, the DLC really serves to introduce the idea of Darkspawn Tevinter priestswhich would be expanded upon later in the franchise, and the characters of Anders and Justice, who play crucial roles in DA2.
4
Witch Hunt - Dragon Age: Origins
Eluvian and Morrigan Knowledge Galore
Witch Hunt was the last DLC released for Origins and ends the Warden's story in Ferelden by telling the story of his quest to find Morrigan. Although the DLC is relatively brief compared to many others, Witch Hunt is filled with stories about eluvians, Flemeth, and their motives throughout Origins. Much of Morrigan's presence in Inquisition can be traced back to Witch Huntalong with the completion of your journey in The Veil Guard. A lovely touch is the option to exit the eluvian with Morrigan if the Warden was in a relationship with her in Origins.
3
The Descent - Dragon Age: Inquisition
Dungeon Crawl through the deep roads
The Descent is the second story-based DLC for Inquisition and does something similar to Hakkon Jaws diving deep into Tedasian culture and expanding it. This time it's the dwarves, as the Inquisitor is sent to investigate strange earthquakes that lead to the discovery of strange dwarves. The Descent There are some amazing stories about dwarves and titans which sets up Harding's companion mission in The Veuguard. However, besides the lore and decent loot, The Descent is a fairly linear dungeon crawl with little connection to the overall Inquisition plot.
2
Legacy - Dragon Age 2
Hawke Blood Holds the Key to a Director's Secret
From everyone Dragon Age 2DLCs, Legacy is the most important, as it sets up the entire plot for Inquisition. In LegacyHawke must track down who is attacking his family, which leads them to an old Gray Wardens prison and revelations about his father and the Wardens. Legacy is a great DLC, with challenging boss fights and enough Warden and Darkspawn knowledge to satisfy even the most dedicated fans. Like this Mark of the Assassin, Legacy can be played at any time after reaching Kirkwall, but it's best left until Act 3 to get the best gear.
1
Invader - Dragon Age: Inquisition
Set up the future of the series
Invader received a mixed response from Dragon Age fans upon release, who felt betrayed by it InquisitionThe true extra cost ending. However, this does not stop Invader to be an excellent DLC that brought the story of the Inquisition to a natural conclusion. Set two years after the events of Inquisitionthe Inquisitor must face a potential Qunari invasion while they also try to track down Solas before he can take down the Veil. So much of The Veil Guard is configured in Invaderfrom the Antaam invasion to Solas and the Evanuris, that it is impossible to ignore the narrative impact Invader I had.
