More than a year after its release, Disney Lorcana is still going strong and has already announced some sets for 2025. New trading card games are often at risk of disappearing early, but like Disney's Hercules, Lorcana It looks like it could go far. Whether it's popular Disney IPs like Moana attached to the game or its accessible gameplay, Lorcana It has been a hit so far among players and collectors.
With the launch of Azurite Sea As of November 2024, there are currently six Lorcana sets. The current difference between the sets is about three or four months. While it's not as blisteringly paced as games like Pokemon Trading Card Game – which this year released eight main series expansion sets and four special expansion sets – Lorcana There's still a good amount of new cards to keep players interested. From now on, 2025 will give players two new complete sets and some additional releases to go along with them.
Archazia Island will feature some of Disney's biggest pets
The Isle of Archazia will be the seventh complete Lorcana set
The first Lorcana set announced for 2025 is called Archazia Island and will be released in March. The set will emphasize pets, so this will likely be the time for Disney's many animal companions to shine. So far it has been shown that Bolt, star of the Disney film of the same name, will be one of the characters on the set. The lightning bolts around him in his preview art could suggest that his powers are real this time and not just part of his in-universe TV show.
It would not be an exaggeration to think Archazia Island There could also be some new mechanic available.
Archazia Island It also has the slogan “learn new tricks.” While this could just be a cute reference to the set's pets, it could also hint at some new mechanics for Lorcana. In the red lands and Ursula's Return, for example, it gave players a new card type (locations) and a new mechanic (singing together), respectively. It would not be an exaggeration to think Archazia Island You may also have something new in store.
In addition to the main set, new accessories for Lorcana will be released together Archazia Island. This includes new card sleeves and deck boxes with Enchanted card art Cinderella – Salon sensation of Rise of the Floodbornand Ursula – Deceiver of Everyone of In the red lands. This means that players who want accessories featuring older card art may still be in luck, even if their favorite characters haven't appeared on any accessories thus far.
Archazia Islandof accessories will also include two new playmats. One features art from the standard version of Tigger – In the Crow's Nestthe other has the art of We could be immortal. Both cards were released in Azurite Sea. Likewise, playmats seem to have a delay of a set or two between the release of a card and the accompanying accessory, so players looking for accessories with Archazia IslandPets will likely have to wait until sometime later in 2025.
Lilo gift box features cute new artwork
Lilo gift box includes a storage box and a new promotional card
Also slated for release in March 2025 is the Lilo Gift Box. The gift box features a new alternative artistic version of Lilo – Escape Artist of Azurite Seathis time with Lilo and Stich included. The gift box comes with a metal copy of the card with your new artwork and a storage box with the same artwork. It's a great companion piece to the Stitch Collector's Gift Set released in November.
Additionally, the gift box comes with five random boosters from sets two to six of Lorcana. The promotional material in the box shows one package of each Rise of the Floodborn, In the red lands, Ursula's Return, Sparkling skiesand Azurite Sea. However, the box itself includes a random assortment, so it varies from box to box. The box also includes some card dividers for storage purposes, featuring new card art. Lilo – Escape Artist.
Reign Of Jafar Introduces Lorcana's Next Big Villain
Reign Of Jafar Will Be Lorcana's Eighth Complete Set
The last Disney Lorcana set currently announced for 2025 is Jafar's reign. As Ursula's return previously, Jafar's reign will center on the titular Disney villain as its main antagonist. Previous sets, Sparkling skies and Azurite Sea have already teased Jafar as the game's next big bad, and Jafar's reign will act as the culmination of these story threads. There may also be some more hints of what Jafar is up to in Archazia Islandalthough nothing official has been announced yet. Jafar's reign is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2025.
Players have already taken a look at a LorcanaEighth set: Iago – Out of Reach. The card, which was originally featured in D23, depicts Jafar's companion Iago. As the name suggests, Iago – Out of Reach can be a difficult character to take off the board, as he cannot be targeted while his controller has another character exhausted. This is a very good ability on a card that seeks two points.
What else can we expect from Lorcana in 2025
Players can probably expect these Lorcana products in 2025
Although these are the only three products officially announced so far for Disney Lorcana In 2025, looking at previous years' releases can give some insight into what else players can expect next year. One thing that It wouldn't be surprising to see that there would be an additional set released near the end of 2025. This would fit into the current three- and four-month release schedule of previous sets.
Ursula's Return also presented the new Illuminator's Mission sets with Deep problemsan independent game using Lorcanathe game mechanics and some exclusive cards. Deep problems allows up to two players to cooperatively face off against an Ursula-themed deck that plays alone. With Jafar's reign coming out in 2025, it wouldn't be too surprising to see one Illuminator's Mission set released with a Jafar-themed deck similar to Ursula.
Although they haven't been announced yet, it wouldn't be a big surprise if Jafar's reign also had new deck boxes, covers and mats to go with it. Would fit Lorcana current standard for these accessories to feature card art Azurite Sea or the next Archazia Island.
It is likely that at least some of the accessories are from Archazia IslandThat's probably why they haven't been previewed yet. Regardless of what else 2025 holds, the Disney Lorcana sets already announced are enough to get players excited about what's coming.
