All dinosaurs in Jurassic World: Dominion bring something unique to the film, and throughout the film, Owen, Claire, and the return Jurassic Park characters Grant, Ellie, and Dr. Ian Malcolm face off against a variety of new prehistoric beasts (and some fan favorites from previous entries in the franchise). The third entry into Jurassic World trilogy and the sixth Jurassic general characteristic, Domião released in 2022, four years after the 2018 premiere Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Domain seems to close the Jurassic World trilogy and concludes many story arcs that began in 1993 Jurassic Park.
Following Fallen KingdomThe ending focused on escape, Jurassic World: Dominion combines characters from the franchise as they fight in a world where dinosaurs have arrived on the mainland. With genetically modified creatures no longer restricted to a remote island or confined facility, the world must decide the fate of these once-extinct beasts. Between lots of brand new dinosaurs Jurassic World: Dominionthere are also several returning species, such as the T-Rex and Jurassic WorldBlue, Blue’s friendly Velociraptor.
Tyrannosaurus Rex
Jurassic Park staple returned to dominance
It wouldn’t be a Jurassic movie without a T-Rex, and of all the dinosaurs in Jurassic World: Dominionthis remains a fan favorite. The iconic predator is the series’ unofficial mascot, with his skeleton serving as the park’s logo in both real life and the films. Of all the T-Rexes in the franchise, none are more beloved than the first Rex from Jurassic Park. Nicknamed “Rexy”, this is the same T-Rex that fought the Indominus in Jurassic World and escaped into the wild at the end of Fallen Kingdom.
The fan-favorite T-Rex also sees her arc concluded at the end of the film, finally taking revenge on the Giganotosaur that killed her 65 million years ago.
After years of survival, Rexy faces new challenges in Jurassic World: Domain, which opens with a sequence set in a drive-in theater where she causes carnage while evading BioSyn helicopters. The fan-favorite T-Rex also sees her arc concluded at the end of the film, finally taking revenge on the Giganotosaur that killed her 65 million years ago – a surprisingly satisfying ending for a character who is a dinosaur.
Velociraptor
The most intelligent dinosaurs in the franchise continue to have a strong presence
After the T-Rex, the other most iconic dinosaur in the world Jurassic franchise is without a doubt Velociraptor. Jurassic World introduced the public to a specific raptor named Bluewho was trained from birth by Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady. At the end of Fallen KingdomBlue escaped into the jungle alongside a horde of other prehistoric beasts. Domain takes Blue in a direction that many fans found controversial.
While giving Blue children isn’t a crime in and of itself, many have taken to the Internet to express how the complicated storyline surrounding Beta and Blue unfolded.
Beta, another calling Jurassic World: Dominion raptor, is Blue’s daughter – produced asexually. While giving Blue children isn’t a crime in and of itself, many have taken to the Internet to express how the complicated storyline surrounding Beta and Blue unfolded. They felt that science fiction’s focus on genetic science took up time that could have been spent on character development or more of the dinosaur action expected from a Jurassic World film.
Pyroraptor
A new feathered dinosaur has joined the franchise
One of the new dinosaurs Jurassic World: Dominion are Pyroraptors, which generated a lot of buzz. These distinctive raptors have feathers in the film. This is an interesting choice since Jurassic Park and Jurassic World dinosaurs are not scientifically accurate. Their design is typically less avian and more reptilian, as was thought before advances in paleontology and genetics led to a better understanding of dinosaur physiology.
However, Pyroraptor cannot claim any awards for historical accuracy, as in the film it is portrayed as an agile swimmer – something for which there is no evidence in real life. Like many of the dinosaurs in Jurassic World: Dominion and other films in the franchise, Pyroraptor did not technically exist in the Jurassic period. In fact, pyroraptors existed during the Cretaceous period, a few million years after the Jurassic era.
Mosasaurus
The most terrifying dinosaur to ever appear in the ocean
One of the rising stars when it comes to the world’s newest dinosaurs Jurassic World: Dominionthe Mosasaurus quickly became one of the most iconic animals in the entire franchise, even managing to kill the mutant Indominus Rex. He also has the distinction of being the first resident of the park to break free and leave the island behind. The Mosasaurus still sails the oceans Domain, capsizing a crab boat and consuming the crew at the beginning of the film.
Archaeologists believe that the Mosasaurus could reach around 17 meters, making it one of the largest Jurassic World: Dominion dinosaurs. Like Pyrosaurus, it existed in the Createcous period, specifically during the Campian and Maastrichtian eras. The first Mosasaurus fossil was discovered in 1764 and was initially mistaken for a whale. The fossil still exists today and can be seen in the Teylers museum in Haarlem.
Atrocyraptor
Velociraptor’s antagonistic cousin
Since Blue and Owen’s arc meant Jurassic WorldBrazil’s Velociraptors need to be more identifiable than they were in Jurassic Park, the shoulder-height backpack hunter position in Jurassic World: Dominion is filled by Atrociraptor. Atrocyraptors are portrayed as one of the most dangerous dinosaurs in the world. Jurassic World: Dominion, mainly because they are pack hunters and have the cunning intelligence that most raptor species share. Bigger and more brutal than Blue and other Velociraptors, Atrocyraptors are one of the carnivores that Owen should avoid as he races through the streets of Malta on a motorbike.
Atrociraptors belong to the same family of dinosaurs as Velociraptors, making them an ideal replacement in From the domain high-octane bike chase scene. Although not as well-known as Velociraptors, Atrociraptors coexisted with them during the Cretaceous Period. They grew to about 6.6 feet long, making them similar in size to Velociraptors, despite the difference in scale between the two dinosaurs in Jurassic World: Dominion.
Allosaurus
The prehistoric carnivore that terrorizes Malta
The carnivorous Allosaurus made its debut in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdomwhere at least five specimens of the species returned alive to the continent. One of these surviving allosaurs was purchased at the film’s dinosaur auction, and another was observed fighting a stubborn Nasutoceratops in the short film. Battle at Big Rock. In Jurassic World: Dominion, Several of the Allosaurus can be seen causing carnage in Malta after the black market for dinosaurs is raided by authorities.
Allosaurus is one of the dinosaurs of Jurassic World: Dominion which actually existed during the Jurassic era, predating the likes of Atrociraptor, Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus Rex by several million years. At its largest size, an Allosaurus can grow to around 28 feet, although despite this impressive size, it is still just over half the size of a larger T-Rex. One aspect of Allosaurus that makes them particularly terrifying is that their teeth are serrated, ensuring that each bite of prey will remove a significant amount of flesh.
Carnotaurus
The Cretaceous predator that (almost) matches the T-Rex
The other deadly predator released onto the streets of Malta after the dinosaurs on the black market in Jurassic World: Dominion are released is the Carnotaurus. Although not quite the same level of apex predator as the mighty T-Rex, Carnotaurus still dominated food chains throughout South America during the late Cretaceous period. THE Carnotaurus may be smaller than a T-Rexbut they rise above the panicked citizens of Malta in Domain – a fact that these horned carnivorous predators use to their advantage.
A true Carnotaurus can grow up to 26 feet long, making it about the same size as an Allosaurus, but still nowhere near the size of a T-Rex. Carnotaurus and Tyrannosaurus existed at approximately the same point in the Late Cretaceous period, about 72-69 million years ago.and outside of Rexy, they are definitely one of the deadliest dinosaurs in Jurassic World: Dominion (despite the film not showing its full potential). Carnotaurus had a remarkably muscular neck for a predator of its size and build, which paleontologists believe may have been used to combat others of its species with headbutts rather than chunks.
Quetzalcoatlus
A flying dinosaur that attacks planes
There aren’t many flying dinosaurs in Jurassic World: Dominion, but the 2022 film chose an incredibly iconic film to focus on – Quetzalcoatlus, a dinosaur from the Cretaceous period believed to have emerged at the end of the T-Rex era. Quetzalcoatlus was a giant flying pterosaur, from the same family as the Pterodactyl. Quetzalcoatlus, however, was much larger, a fact taken advantage of in one of the Jurassic World: Dominion intense CGI sequences when someone tries to crash a plane.
It’s clear judging by The size of Quetzalcoatlus is that it is one of the largest flying dinosaurs, and so far no species has been discovered that surpasses it. They were thought to have a wingspan of just over 36 feet, which is more than large enough to make air travel infinitely more dangerous on dinosaur-inhabited Earth. Jurassic World: Domain. Quetzacoatlus were discovered relatively recently, compared to some of the other dinosaurs in the world. Jurassic World: Domion, with the first fossils only being discovered in Texas in 1971.
Therizinosaurus
The terrifying clawed predator of prehistory
One Jurassic World: Dominion scene that refers to tension Jurassic Park gathered involves Claire Dearing hiding from the terrifying Therizinosaurus. This predator has a distinctive appearance, boasting long claws that can reach more than a meter in length – considered the longest of any animal that has walked the Earth to date.
Therizinosaurus existed in the Cretaceous era, although it is thought to possibly predate T-Rex. They could grow to about 33 feet long, making them one of the largest bipedal land dinosaurs in the world. Jurassic World or Jurassic Park franchises. Despite their frightening appearance, paleontologists believe that Therizinosaurus were not carnivorous and ate mainly plants, especially tree foliage.
Giganotosaurus
T-Rex’s rival with an incredibly apt name
If Rexy is the Godzilla of Jurassic World franchise, then the monstrous Giganotosaurus is his King Ghidorah. Giganotosaurus is set up as a T-Rex antagonist to face an epic dinosaur fight at the end of Jurassic World: Dominion, and Rexy is unable to defeat the titanic carnivore without help of a Therizinosaurus. It’s not surprising that even a T-Rex struggled to cope with this Jurassic World dinosaur, as they could grow to about 43 feet long, making them about the same size.
Although every predatory dinosaur in Jurassic World: Domain It’s scary, Giganotosaurus is in a league of its own. They were larger than Tyrannosaurus Rex and had mouths full of 8- to 12-inch teeth that could dig into the flesh of their prey with a bite force of more than 35,000 Newtons. T-Rex vs Giganotosaurus was one of the most impressive Jurassic World: Dominion dinosaur fights, but the two did not coexist in real life. Giganotosaurus last roamed the Earth about 99 to 95 million years ago, long before the first T-Rex appeared.
Dilophosaurus
Fan-favorite slobbery dinosaur returns to dominance
Many fan-favorite characters from Jurassic Park return to join the list of Jurassic World: Dominion dinosaurs in the 2022 movie. However, this is not just limited to humans. The frilly Dilophosaurus, famous for killing hapless industrial espionage failure Dennis Nedry in Jurassic Park, is back. This venom-spitting dinosaur also doesn’t change shapecontinuing its tradition of ending Jurassic lives of antagonists when a gang of them attacks Jurassic World: DominionHuman villain Lewis Dodgson.
Very similar to Allosaurus, Dilophosaurus is one of the few Jurassic World: Dominion dinosaurs that are actually from the Jurassic era, not the Cretaceous period. They existed about 186 million years ago, making them older to dinosaurs like the T-Rex than the T-Rex is to humanity. Dilophosaurus was first discovered in Arizona in 1940. Although its frills are definitely intimidating, Dilophosaurus had a remarkably weak bite, even for a dinosaur of its size, leading paleontologists to believe they were scavengers rather than predators.
Triceratops
A tricycle and its adorable baby provide a heartwarming moment of dominance
After an injured Triceratops captured the hearts of the public in Jurassic Park, “Trikes” are back Jurassic World: Dominion for an equally exciting moment. With dinosaurs roaming the world again, dinosaur black markets have become a lucrative source of income for many criminal elements. A scene shows one of these illegal operations in Malta. Among the caged dinosaurs is a family of Triceratops, including an adorable baby Trike.
Outside of the T-Rex, Triceratops is undoubtedly the most easily recognizable of the Jurassic World: Dominion dinosaursand one of several species that immediately come to mind when discussing prehistoric beasts, thanks to their prominence in op culture. They existed about 68-66 million years ago and were wiped out during the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event. Triceratops first appeared in the franchise in Jurassic Park, and they’ve been a staple of the series ever since.
Nasutoceratops and Sinoceratops
A two-horned cousin of Triceratops
Nasutoceratops, a relative of the famous three-horned Triceratops that appeared in Jurassic Parkmade your Jurassic World short film debut Battle at Big Rockwhere he fought an Allosaurus. The creature returns in Jurassic World: Dominion, using its enormous weight and horns to flip jeeps as if they were made of paper. A herd of Nasutoceratops and Triceratops, along with three-horned Sinoceratops, panic and begin to stampede after a fleet of Dinosaur Protection Group vehicles disturb them.
Nasutoceraptops significantly predate their Triceratops cousins. Although both existed in the Cretaceous era, Nasutoceratops existed between 76 and 75 million years ago, about 10 million years before the first recorded evidence of Triceratops. There was possibly some overlap between Trikes and Sinoceratops, as Sinoceratops existed between 73 and 66 million years ago. Sinoceratops is a relatively recent discovery in the world of paleontology, having only been identified in 2008.
Parasaurolophus
The herbivores that Owen herded during the opening of the Dominion
During her first scenes in Jurassic World: Dominion, Owen Grady is chasing a pack of Parasaurolophus through the Sierra Nevada mountains on horseback. This herbivore lived in herds and could reach maximum speeds of 40 km/h, according to some paleontologists. Like many of the dinosaurs in Jurassic World and Jurassic Park, Parasaurolophus did not exist during the Jurassic period but lived at the end of the Cretaceous, 65 million years later.
Although Parasaurolophus appears to be the main prey of a T-Rex, they actually existed several million years earlier, with the species believed to have been present between 76 million and 73 million years ago. They were first identified in 1922 after skull and bone fragments were discovered in Alberta. Of all Jurassic World: Dominion dinosaurs, Parasaurolophus was portrayed more inaccurately, as those seen in the film were very small. The real dinosaur could have reached around 9 meters in length, much larger than the beasts pursued by Owen in the Domain opening.
Apatosaurus
A replacement for Brachiosaurus
It wouldn’t be a Jurassic franchise film without a long-necked dinosaur that would dwarf an elephant. In Jurassic World: Dominion, this position was almost exclusively occupied by Apatosaurus. Although smaller than the Brachiosaurus seen in Jurassic Park, Apatosaurus is still a huge herbivore which fills all the characters present with admiration.
Apatosaurus can claim to be one of the Jurassic World: Dominion Dinosaurs actually existed in the Jurassic period. They last roamed the Earth between 154 and 150 million years ago and occupied the region of the globe that is now North America. Apatosaurus could reach a whopping 75 feet in length and weighed well over 20 tons. They were first discovered in 1909, although they were initially confused with Brachiosaurus until a complete skeleton was discovered, revealing a more robust and dense bone structure.
Dreadnoughtus
The biggest dinosaurs that exist
Although dinosaurs like Brachiosaurus and Apatosaurus dwarf the largest wildlife on Earth today, they are far from the largest that ever lived. The biggest Jurassic World: Dominion dinosaur, the Dreadnoughtus, could easily surpass it Jurassic Park Brachiosaurusand it was so large that it almost defied comprehension. Dreadnoughtus is believed to be the largest land animal that not only ever existed, but is also calculable based on scientific understanding of biology and physics.
Dreatnoughtus’ name means “fear nothing”
An adult Dreadnoughtus can reach 85 feet in length and weigh over 65 tons. They also weighed an astonishing 48-49 metric tons. If something bigger were discovered, it would shatter everything known about the upper limits of the natural world. Appropriately for a beast unrivaled in size, Dreatnoughtus’ name means “fear nothing”, a fact highlighted in Domain.
Jurassic World Dominion features new and old dinosaurs
There were more dinosaurs in Dominion than in other Jurassic films
Jurassic World: Dominion presents one of the most impressive lists of dinosaurs anywhere Jurassic film to date, and many of them are new to the franchise. Giants like Dreadnoughtus and Giganotosaurus pushed the size of the franchise’s on-screen dinosaurs to new limits. The introduction of Pyroraptor and Atrociraptor meant that Owen’s Velociraptors could be fully positioned as lovable, yet misunderstood and still carnivorous, protagonists.
Then, there were visually striking additions, such as the long-beaked plane-fighting Quetzalcoatlus and the clawed Therizinosaurus, that guarantee Domain will be distinctive in the franchise for something other than its mixed reception upon release. But it wasn’t just the new dinosaurs. Jurassic World: Dominion is the last film of Jurassic World trilogy, a fact it attempted to celebrate by reintroducing a number of characters, and dinosaurs, from the first Jurassic Park in 1993.
Alongside Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler, fan-favorite dinosaurs from Isla Nubar’s ill-fated first park, like the Dilophosaur and Triceratops, are back. Jurassic World: Dominion. So there are many Jurassic World established pillars themselves, such as the Aquatic Mosasaurus. And the two dinosaurs that stole the show in Jurassic Park are back to Jurassic World: Dominion — despite almost three decades having passed, It’s T-Rex and Velociraptor competing for the title of the public’s most beloved prehistoric predator.
Which Jurassic Park dinosaurs are not in the domain?
The 2022 film was missing several franchise favorites
There is no shortage Jurassic World: Dominion dinosaurs, new and returning from the previous Jurassic World and Jurassic Park films. However, not all of the dinosaurs previously seen in the series have returned, and there are several notable exceptions that are missing, such as Stegosaurus. Some of them also appeared in several of the franchise’s films, making their absence somewhat noticeable to die-hard fans.

Dominion wasted all the dinosaurs
Instead, it focused on the human cloning plot
With so many exciting dinosaurs included in the film, it becomes even more frustrating that Jurassic World: Dominion wastes almost all of them. Despite the huge box office numbers, the Jurassic World movies were never able to capture the magic of 1993 Jurassic Park. However, Jurassic World: Dominion was a particularly bad ending because it had the opportunity to use dinosaurs in a way the franchise had been teasing for years.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom It could have made for a far-fetched ending by doing so, but unleashing the dinosaurs on the world could have made for an exciting third film. It’s hard to imagine why Jurassic World: Dominion then decided to focus on the cloning and locust plot before setting the climax in yet another park. Battle at Big Rock showed how exciting it can be to see a Jurassic World film in which humans and dinosaurs share the same planet.
In addition to the opening of the film and the Malta sequenceJurassic World Dominion ignored the best ideas for what was possible with this story. Jurassic Park movies have always conveyed a message about the dangers of tinkering with biology, but it wasn’t necessary to explore it through sci-fi human cloning. Surprisingly, it appears that the Jurassic World: Dominion the filmmakers forgot the main reason audiences wanted the film: the dinosaurs.
Which Jurassic Park movie had the most dinosaurs?
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom There were more dinosaurs
Jurassic World: Dominion It has more dinosaurs than any other film in the franchise, and it’s not even close. There were seven dinosaurs featured in Jurassic Park10 in. The Lost World: Jurassic Parkand 12 in. Jurassic Park III. These three films only shared four dinosaurs between them allthe Velociraptor, the Tyrannosaurus, the Triceratops and the Parasaurolophus. These four are also the only dinosaurs to appear in all six films.
Things started out a little normal in Jurassic Worldbut things got crazy after that. Jurassic World it featured 13 dinosaurs, just one more than the previous film. However, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom decided to include as many dinosaurs as possible in the mix, with 18 different dinosaurs. The film introduced new dinosaurs like Allosauus, Baryonyx, Indoraptor, Sinoceratops, and Stygimoloch to the franchise. According to JA Bayona, it was difficult to fit all the dinosaurs (via motionpictures.org):
“There are scenes where we had so many dinosaurs in the same frame that we had to enlarge the frame.”
With such a huge jump in dinosaurs, Jurassic World: Dominion decided to surpass all other films. The film surprisingly had 33 different dinosaurs, featuring 12 that had never been seen before in the Jurassic Park franchise.
