Lily will meet many spirits that will help her fight during her travels in Ender Lilies: Quietus of the KnightsAnd each will have a required number to level. The Umbral Knight is the first of the spirits to fight in her place and needs ancient souls. There are five hidden in the world for you to find as you explore various areas.
The ancient souls are spread between a couple of different maps. These are the Catacombs, the Stockade and the Verboten Field. Some of them are in the same places on the maps, while others are found apart from one another. Similar to other games like Empty KnightYou may have to return to areas you’ve been to before to capture Ancient Souls.

Not all the ancient souls you can get are individually in the area maps you explore. For example, you can Find more than one Ancient Soul in the same location When you delve into the catacombs area in Ender Lilies‘ Metroidvania-style map. Go to the locations for each ancient soul needed to start leveling the Umbral Knight:

Defeat the Dark Witch Elin, then as Lily, go to the level below the pile of bones in the room to the right of the Charnel Rest. From here, smash the bones with Gerrod to access and use a lever. This opens a metal grate at the bottom of the body of water to the right. Find the corpse in the room below the end of the path and clean it to get the ancient souls. |

Go to the site left of the Execution Ground when in this area. Take the bottom exit to leave the room through a grate, where you can find a hanging cage with a body next to it. Cleanse the body to get another Ancient Soul. |

Reach the room with the stone tablet by smashing the ground near the dais in Subterranean Lab B 4. Use Faden’s power to unlock the door in the blighted waters. Swim through this place to reach a safe place with an Umbral Knight body you can cleanse for the ancient souls. |
The ancient souls in the Verboten Domain are perhaps the hardest to reach since this area is more difficult to travel through. Prepare for this location by equipping plenty of HP boosts, healing items, and relics like the Heretic’s Mask that can help you overcome the challenges of the area.
To reach the ancient souls, you You need to have the ability unlocked that allows you to break barriers to other rooms. Slam into places on the floor from a room high enough to do this when you have obtained the ability after progressing through Ender Lilies Main story.

Get the first of many ghosts
A small scene plays after you’ve collected the last of the ancient souls, revealing the Umbral Knight as the first of many spirits you can earn. Ghosts are a type of collectible found throughout the game with abilities you can harness to defeat your enemies. Each spirit you collect has its own story and skills that make them unique characters that you can recruit during your journey.
Mood can be improved as you continue to beat Ender Lilies Various bosses, making them stronger for future battles. The Umbral Knight, like any spirit, is your way to fight back against the creatures of evil you find yourself up against as you explore different maps. The Umbral Knight is the most straightforward spirit that uses this ability when summoned:
- Sword Flurry – Unleashes a flurry of sword attacks. Attack direction can be changed during the advance by moving right or left.
This ability has infinite uses and no cooldown as a main skill of the Umbral Knight. As you continue to rely on this ally, you can learn more about their history, and even affect some endings of the game through the relationship you build with them. While you may want to use other spirits as you continue through ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the KnightsThe Umbral Knight is one of the most interesting characters you will encounter.
