Emperor Palpatine Unleashes Death Star Opposite As Iconic Battle Of Jakku Arrives

In a preview for Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku – Republic Siege (2024) #4 – written by Alex Segura and art by Stefano Reffaele – Mon Mothma meets with Princess Leia, Admiral Ackbar, Luke Skywalker and Rynn Zenat to explain the dire state of the galaxy.

According to insider information from “The Operator”, – who is actually Councilor Gallius Rax trying to eliminate rival Imperial officials and manipulate the New Republic – confirms that the Empire is combining its forces in hopes of dealing one last crippling blow to the New Republic . on the planet Jakku, setting the stage for the crucial battle to come.

It turns out that Emperor Palpatine has been planning the Battle of Jakku since before he became Chancellor of the Republic Senate, and his plan included blowing up the planet Jakku from the inside, like a reverse Death Star. The current Star Wars comic series titled The Battle of Jakku is finally reaching its precipice, and Palpatine's plan is getting closer to fruition as the iconic Battle of Jakku approaches. Emperor Palpatine's contingency was designed so that his empire would not survive himif he died prematurely.

Before Palpatine became Chancellor of the Republic Senate, he began construction of an observatory on the planet Jakku, with an inner shaft leading directly to the planet's core. He also invested resources in the Unknown Regions. The next phase of the contingency was to reunite the Empire and New Republic on Jakku, and eliminate them by destroying the planet from the inside out, dumping Sith relics into the constructed well. Gallius Rax, having carried out Palpatine's plan, was then to retreat to the Unknown Regions and build a new Empire for Palpatine to rule the galaxy again.

Jakku appears in the following films and was therefore not destroyed in the Battle of Jakku, and the Empire was defeated at the hands of the New Republic. Gallius Rax was killed before he could fully fulfill Palpatine's contingency, and Rax instead instructed Grand Admiral Sloane to take his place in the Unknown Regions. Sloane did as she was told and ended up building the First Order. Before all this can happen, Rax has to lure the New Republic to Jakku.

Finally, at Marvel Star Wars comics, the iconic Battle of Jakku is almost here, and the New Republic will have to defeat yet another of the Emperor Palpatine plans to survive.

Gallius Rax's role as “The Operator” appears to be working out quite well, as in the preview, Mon Mothma says that her source has been providing details on the remaining Imperial cells. Mon and the New Republic will also have to deal with the threat from Governor Ubrik Adelhard before turning their attention to Jakku, but insider information from Reyna Oskure may prove that the problem was quickly resolved. Finally, at Marvel Star Wars comics, the iconic Battle of Jakku is almost here, and the New Republic will have to defeat yet another of the Emperor Palpatine plans to survive.
