Elrond's Rings Of Power Season 2 Story Makes Lord Of The Rings Scene Much Sadder

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season two makes a scene of Elrond from the movies even more tragic. Played by Robert Aramayo, young Elrond is one of the most important Rings of Power characters. His relationships with Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) and Durin IV (Owain Arthruru) are at the heart of the series. Elrond did his best to balance his friendship with Durin with the larger problems facing the Elves and Dwarves.

In season 2, Elrond's friendship with Galadriel is tested by their opposing views on whether rings of power should be used.. Put Rings of Power At the end of Season 2, Elrond's view of the rings of power changes given Galadriel's actions and the changes that have occurred in Middle-earth. Despite having a different perspective on the Rings of Power Season 3, Elrond's resistance to the rings makes a scene in the film sadder.

Elrond's Rings Of Power Season 2 Story Makes His Mount Doom Flashback Sadder

It's not the first time he's been unable to stop his allies from embracing the rings.

Flashback to Elrond's Mount Doom in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is more devastating given its Rings of Power season 2 story. Rings of Power shows that he has been warning others about the dangers of the rings for years, and yet his allies continue to use them anyway. He is unable to stop Galadriel, King Gil-galad (Benjamin Walker) and the Elves from using the rings, although he sees their value in the season finale.

In the flashback scene with an older Elrond (Hugo Weaving) in Fellowship of the RingElrond also fails to convince Isildur (Harry Sinclair) to throw the One Ring into the fires of Mount Doom. Instead, Isildur keeps the One Ring and leaves with it, allowing Sauron to resist when he should have been defeated. Rings of Power shows that Even before that fateful day within Mount Doom, Elrond had failed many thousands of years before to prevent the use of the rings.

The Rings Of Power Season 3 Could Add Another Tragic Layer To This LOTR Moment

Could create a close bond between Elrond and Isildur

Rings of Power Season 3 could make the Mount Doom flashback even more tragic by showing Elrond and young Isildur (Maxim Baldry) teaming up and becoming friends and allies. Although Elrond and Isildur are committed to fighting the forces of evil in Middle-earth, their histories remain separate. This could change in Season 3, with their stories colliding and forcing them to work together, as well as Isildur and Arondir (Ismael Cruz Córdova) being closely connected in Season 2 after having separate stories in Season 1.

The One Ring's hold on Isildur proves to be too strong, causing him to choose it over his friend's wisdom and love.

If that happens, Elrond isn't just begging an ally to cast the One Ring into the fire. He is begging an old friend, and despite the power of their bond potentially demonstrated in Rings of Power In Season 3, the One Ring's hold on Isildur proves to be too strong, causing him to choose it over his friend's wisdom and love. That would add more weight to The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and the iconic flashback of Elrond and Isildur in Fellowship of the Ring.
