Echoes Of Wisdom tactics are ideal for speedrunners

Even though the game was released just a few weeks ago, players The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom are already looking for ways to speed up the game. The game’s Echo ability allowed players to approach this part in a completely different way compared to previous games. Whether in combat or while solving puzzles, Echo of Wisdom constantly asks the player to interact with the environment in completely new ways. This is no more obvious than when Zelda crosses Hyrule.

During the game, Zelda often relies on the echoes she has collected. to move around her kingdom with ease. Players often encounter large chasms and high platforms or cliff faces that are too large for the admittedly lackluster princess jump. These gaps usually have a simple solution: requiring an Echo to help Zelda reach new areas. However, one player took it even further by allowing the princess to skip huge portions of the entire map. The best thing is that they achieved this by simply doing what the Echo ability encouraged and thinking outside the box.

Zelda fans have already found a speedrun tactic for Echos of Wisdom

And all it takes is two echoes

X-user Marumotti found a way to skip huge portions Echo of Wisdom using two echoes in tandem with each other. By placing Zelda on the Echo of the Old Bed and creating Echo Tornando several times, the floating creature will launch the bed high into the air. In the video above, a player demonstrates the power of this tactic, Zelda’s advancement from the bottom of the Eldin volcano to the city of Goron in just a few seconds. This time is nothing compared to the few minutes required for a normal volcano crossing.

Connected

This tactic is designed for use in official speedruns, which makes it even better due to its accessibility. Both of the Echoes needed to perform this trick can be found early in the game: the Old Bed can be found in the opening moments of the game, and the Tornadoes are found in the Gerudo Desert, one of the first places Zelda visits. It’s interesting to see how quickly players can open the game widewhich allows for almost limitless potential in how they choose to develop. And this is just one of many Echo combinations that the player can experiment with.

How Echoes Encourage Experimentation

There is no right or wrong answer when using echo

What’s most interesting about this speedrunning tactic is that how naturally it fits into the game design generally. This tactic is not some kind of glitch unintended by the developers that can be exploited. Instead, it’s directly in line with how Nintendo expects you to use Zelda’s Echo ability. The entire game is built around these experiments. Dungeons in Echo of Wisdom no longer assemble puzzles around a single item obtained from a chest. Instead, the puzzles are open-ended and have multiple solutions. Players should think about the Echoes at their disposal and how they can be used together to progress.

This approach directly corresponds to speedrunning itself, where players work to find solutions to complete the game in the shortest possible time. This experimentation is only enhanced by the sheer number of echoes that can be collected. Zelda can receive a total of 127 echoes.giving players an almost endless number of opportunities to perform truly powerful moves. With so many Echos to choose from and experiment with, this is just the beginning The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom speedruns and it couldn’t be more exciting.
