MySims Kingdom is finally coming to Nintendo Switch as part of MySims: Cozy Pack. 16 years after its initial release on the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS, the new version will allow many eager players to pick up their wands and return to the many islands of King Roland’s Kingdom. While not all islands are as pleasant as old-timers remember, some are even better.
There are ten explorable islands in the Kingdomnot including Capital Island, which is King Roland’s home, nor Bounty Island, where the player can spend credits at the end of the game. Each has unique themes and characters that need your help like Royal Wandolier, but not all islands are worth the work required to complete them.

Unknown island
An island trapped in time
Uncharted Island is perhaps the smallest and shortest island in MySims Kingdomwhich is surprising given that it is accessed later in the game. Upon arrival, players meet Sir Vincent Skullfinder, a fellow explorer looking for unique discoveries to take to his museum. It’s supposed to be a bit shady from the initial greeting, with Buddy openly mentioning it, but before you have much time to think about it, you’re attacked by the local caveman, Gonk.

After meeting Gonk and resolving the misunderstanding about him attacking Buddy, you help him find a place for him and Sylvia, his girlfriend. Shortly afterwards, it is revealed that Sir Vincent has trapped Sylvia and Bobaboo, a small triceratops, who he intends to take with him to his museum. After distracting him and freeing them, the island ends with a simple scolding that doesn’t do much good. In short, the island is short and quite forgettable, with no residents to stand out..

Trevor Island
A one-man show
Trevor Island is one of the few islands that may have potential due to its larger scale and somewhat interesting tasks, but it is severely hampered by the sheer irritation factor of being forced to chase Trevor around the island like a monster. The whole central theme of Trevor Island is that you’re there to help Trevor put on a “Trevorverse” play. fixing sets and even starring as a co-star in some scenes. Unfortunately, some of these scenes involve you chasing Trevor around the island.
It sounds simple in theory, but the only problem is that Trevor runs when you are within a certain distance of him and not on a set track. This means that instead of just chasing Trevor to another location, takes what seems like forever trying to free it from behind hedges, map corners, and more obstructions. That alone is so frustrating that it’s almost impossible not to hate Trevor, and his entire island, in the end.

Renée Nature Reserve
A simple, animal-friendly island
Renee Nature Reserve is one of the first islands in this My Sims spin-off game, and it’s pretty obvious based on how simplistic it is. The island itself consists of Renee and her nature reserve, which she needs help with to finish building. You perform some normal tasks for her, including fixing some features like the nature walk and even helping reunite a bear cub with its mother. Unfortunately, there isn’t much more to it than that.
It’s possible to overlook how simple the island is, as its main intention seems to be to teach players how to perform basic tasks on future islands, but compared to another early game island, Cowboy Junction, this is, at best, below average. Most of what you do here is pretty forgettable, just like Renee, and you definitely won’t leave the island eager to return to it.. However, at least the animals here are cute.

Elf Forest
An island home to fantastic creatures
This island isn’t much different than Renee Nature Preserve on the surface, but it shows how much better that island could have been. The Elf Forest is home to Leaf and Petal, who are looking for a way to bring back the creatures from their island. You start by helping Hopper, a frog boy, come to his senses after convincing him to drink a concoction you prepared for him. When he returns to normal, you help your normal frog friends return to normal by guiding them to the lake.
From there, the difference between this island and Renee’s begins to emerge, as the player rebuilds a temple and hears Leaf give a crazy guitar performance that is enough to bring back the island’s unique creature, the unicorn. Seeing the unicorn slowly trot and join all the animals in dancing a sick guitar solo is hilarious and memorable. So while this is still a pretty simple island overall, the characters bring a special quality that can last long after leaving.

Rocket Reef
Scientists, astronauts and crazy robots, oh my!
Rocket Reef is one of the most boring islands in the world MySims Kingdom. Although the island itself is not huge, the work required here is quite complex and time-consuming. Overall, the purpose of this island is to help prepare astronaut Vic for his rocket journey. Unfortunately, Vic was not trained, the laboratory was destroyed, and the rocket was not built. So you’ll need to fix all of these things to get Vic on that rocket and complete the island.
That’s a lot to accomplish, but there’s also TOBOR, the robot that needs your help to find all the body parts. After finding them, he charmingly says that he would like to use his My Sims developing skills to design a restaurant for the island. Although not all the characters are very likable, TOBOR and the aspects involved in the island’s design make up for it.. Additionally, Vic offers the figurine collection quest, which is a fun and complete task for those interested.

Candypalooza
A literal crab rave
Candypalooza is a very small island, but deep down it’s just fun. The whole island is themed around a music festival starring DJ Candy. To help with the preparation, you need to help Zack and Sapphire prepare the island by repairing the stage and building a house. Fixing the scenery is quite simple, but it is a way of expressing unique creativity, as it is unlike any other island.
Furthermore, building and designing the house with Sapphire is as basic as it gets with Simsand it’s not a bad thing. Building and designing each room reminds you that this is an offshoot of the original Sims series and which still maintains the main design features that make it The Sims excellent. The island ends with you stopping a wave of crabs at the rave, which is hilarious, and playing DJ Candy’s music, which is undoubtedly very good..

Cutopia
The story of the cute alternative Romeo and Juliet
Cutopia is a divisive island among fans, but there’s no denying it’s fun. Upon arriving in Cutopia, you meet Duchess Beverly and her son, Lord Daniel, who are discussing the upcoming Cutopia Awareness Day Festival to honor Cutopia’s traditions while being cute. Although the surface layer of this island is quite shallow, it features a somewhat touching “Sk8er Boi” reverse romance between the cute Lord Daniel and the island’s alternative girl, Violet.
As preparation for the festival comes into play, most of the time on the island is spent helping Daniel woo Violet and later saving her when her mother traps her in a tower to keep them apart.. You wrap up the island by saving Violet and confronting Duchess Beverly for her heinous behavior, who apologizes and says it was for the good of her son, since Violet is, well, not cute at all. For some reason, everyone forgives her easily, which gives this island some points, but it’s still a fun story to be a part of.

The Royal Academy
Teen Romance Island
The Island of Royal Academy is like something straight out of a teen romance that fits perfectly The Sims. Upon arriving on the island, you meet the school principal, Rosalyn, who is preparing for the big school dance. After helping her tidy up her school classroom, you’ll have a chance to talk to the students, which include Summer, Liberty, Travis, and Chaz. Naturally, all the stereotypical teen movie archetypes are here, including a cheerleader, a nerd, a jock, and a class clown.
As you help them tidy up their dorms, you discover that some romantic feelings are circulating within the group, but unfortunately, Summer and Liberty like the same guy, Travis. That leaves it up to you to find out what Travis’ feelings are on the matter, and when that fails, it’s ultimately up to you to decide for him. This is one of the only influential decisions you can make in MySims Kingdombringing the entire island to light for that reason alone, but the story itself is still quite entertaining despite being cliché.
2
cowboy joint
A Rootin’ Tootin’ Pizza Thief
Cowboy Junction is one of the first islands to become accessible, alongside Renee’s Nature Preserve, and is one of the best in the entire game. Upon arrival, you meet Sheriff Ginny, who is in charge of protecting the island, but she is quite bored considering there is no crime. As you explore, you are also introduced to Chef Gino, Gabby, and Roxie. This island already has a large collection of characters with a variety of tasks, but all mainly centered around helping Chef Gino.
As you learn about the pizza-making process, you will have to repair items and help those who provide the ingredients. Unfortunately, even after you’re done, you’ll encounter the last character on the island, a thief. After stealing his pizza, the thief leads the player and Sheriff Ginny on a chase across the island before being captured and reformed. None of the tasks are difficult, but the island is charming and the large group of characters provide fun, Western-style entertainment.

Scary
Goth Boy and Grandma Ruthies Cookies
Spookane is without a doubt a fan favorite among My Sims fans and for good reason. After arriving on the island, you meet Goth Boy, who is hilariously named Goth Boy. Unfortunately, he is too depressed to talk, so after some convincing, the two of you continue on a journey to retrieve an ancient Morcubus book, the Dracula-style island villain. Along the way are characters like Yuki, a vampire-like face biter, and most notably Grandma Ruthie and Zombie Carl.
Zombie Carl is a zombie who only seeks fun in his afterlife state, which you provide by building him a small space in exchange for a key to Morcubus’ castle. Grandma Ruthie, however, is the best character in the entire game. She starts out as the owner of a sweet cookie shop that allows you to convert your entire life to the Gothic aesthetic to attract the island’s residents. You end the island by storming Mocubus’ castle and wishing for more time with these MySims Kingdom characters.
