Notice! This article contains spoilers for Arcane Season 2, Act I.
Arcane Season Two, Act I, revolves around Caitlyn’s efforts to bring Jinx to justice, which she hopes to do with an all-new strike team filled with new and familiar faces. The formation of Caitlyn’s strike team stems from Arcane the season 1 finale and Jinx’s attack on Piltover. After the Zaunites fired a Hextech-powered rocket at Piltover, the wealthy city’s population mourned the death of ArcaneThe Piltover council members, none other than Caitlyn, who lost her mother Cassandra in the attack.
At the time of Arcane Season 2, Act I finale, Caitlyn’s anger and rage at Jinx’s actions are well established. This leads to the formation of an elite team, created with three goals in mind: arrest Jinx, dismantle the operation responsible for creating Zaun’s Shimmer drug, and eliminate any agents still loyal to Silco. This strike team consists of some familiar faces and new members of the Arcaneof the cast of characters, each with their own weapons as they venture beneath Piltover through the streets of Zaun with justice – or in some cases, revenge – in mind.

Caitlyn
Armed with a hextech rifle
Naturally, the leader of Caitlyn’s strike force in Arcane It’s, well, Caitlyn. As heir to the Kiramman family, Caitlyn wields great power in Piltover’s fractured political landscape. At the end of Arcane Season 2, Episode 1, Caitlyn goes on a secret council mission and declares her intentions to venture into Zaun and bring Jinx and Silco’s followers to justice. This happens right after Caitlyn wins ArcaneKiramman’s key, which makes your infiltration into Zaun much easier thanks to the deplorable use of smog from the factory known as The Gray.
Caitlyn uses The Gray to weaken any Zaunite resistance as she and her team search for Jinx, her previously compassionate ways giving way to a vengeful rage. In Arcane Season 2, Caitlyn upgrades her arsenal from her regular rifle. With Jayce’s help, Caitlyn possesses a powerful new Hextech rifle that fires incredibly powerful projectiles at its targets. This weapon helped Caitlyn in her fight against Sevika in Arcane season 2, episode 3, while also allowing her to hurt Jinx by shooting her rival’s middle finger.

Saw
Armed with hextech gauntlets
Another of the familiar faces as part of ArcaneVi’s strike team is Vi. Vi was in an interesting position from Arcane season 1 finale; the character was left relying on the idea that Powder is dead and only Jinx remains, while at the same time having to help Caitlyn as she grieves for her mother. This culminated in Vi’s request to join the Piltover Enforcers, a decision that was also difficult for the former Zaunite. Vi knows the oppression the Enforcers can inflict on Zaun after experiencing it as a child.
However, she also knows that the organization may be her only way to arrest Jinx and protect Caitlyn. Eventually, Vi agrees to join the Enforcers and becomes part of Caitlyn’s task force. Vi is shown at the end of Arcane Season 2, Episode 1, alongside Caitlyn and the other team members in their blue uniform. Like Caitlyn, Vi possesses unique weapons powered by ArcaneIt’s Hextech. These weapons come in the form of giant gauntlets used by Vi in Arcane Season 1 once again giving her an appearance that is emblematic of her League of Legends counterpart.

Maddie
Armed with a pistol and grenade launcher
The most prominent novelty Arcane character as part of Caitlyn’s task force is Maddie. Maddie is first introduced in Arcane Season 2, Episode 1, when she finds Vi drunk on the streets of Piltover. Maddie is shown as someone who looks up to Vi and is inspired by her and Caitlyn’s stories. Maddie tells Vi about how Caitlyn made a scene when the Piltover Enforcers tried to deny Vi’s enlistment, showing a lot of enthusiasm when talking about Vi’s supposed bravery in trying to take down Silco in Arcane season 1.
Beyond that, little is known about Maddie’s general character, although more will likely be revealed as Arcane season 2 moves to Acts II and III. Regarding weaponry, Maddie is not as equipped as Vi and Caitlyn. Maddie has weapons that don’t include Hextech, including a pistol and a grenade launcher.
Maddie is shown holding her pistol at the ready, proving her bravery regardless of whether her weapons are powered by Hextech or not…
In Arcane Season 2, Act I, Maddie is not seen using any of these weapons outside of the opening montage of episode 3, but they are shown several times. The introduction of Caitlyn’s task force at the end of Arcane Season 2 Episode 1 shows Maddie carrying her grenade launcher, with Episode 2 showing the group infiltrating Jinx’s hideout. As they make their way through Gray’s infested rooms, Maddie is shown holding her pistol at the ready, proving her bravery regardless of whether her weapons are Hextech-powered or not.

Lorikeet
Armed with a giant riot shield
Another of the new characters from Arcane season two as part of Caitlyn’s strike team is Loris. Although his name is only revealed via Arcanecredits, Loris is still an intriguing character. He is portrayed as the gentle giant type, initially providing Vi with someone to talk to despite her introducing herself by throwing a bottle at him. Loris is present when Vi is confronted by Maddie, he is later shown to have also joined the Enforcers. Afterwards, Loris’ caring nature is shown as he often tries to protect others, whether with his shield or a friendly arm around their shoulders.
Although Loris didn’t have much character development in Arcane season 2, Act I, several scenes hinted at its continued importance later on. For one thing, Loris seems remarkably interested when Maddie reveals that Vi tried to take down Silco alone. Whether this simply implies his reverence for Vi or something deeper remains to be seen. Furthermore, Loris is the only Enforcer who does not support Caitlyn’s rise to general in Arcane Season 2, Episode 3begging the question of what his future holds.
As mentioned, Loris wields a giant shield in Arcane. As was the case with Maddie, the shield is not shown in as much action outside of Arcane Season 2, episode 3 opening montage. That said, Loris is shown much more as a protector given his choice of weaponry, raising the question of whether he will continue to use it in Arcane Acts II and III.

Steve
Armed with sticks
The final character introduced as part of Caitlyn’s heist team in Arcane season 2 is Steb. Steb is the strong but silent character on Caitlyn’s team, with the character not having a line of dialogue throughout the entire game. Arcane Season 2, Act I. Steb is first introduced alongside Maddie when the two encounter Vi and Loris on the streets of Piltover. Steb is intriguing because he is not human, but rather a human-fish hybrid in Arcane. It is unclear whether this grants him any special abilities, but none have been shown in Arcane the first three episodes of season 2.
Like Maddie and Loris, Steb’s weaponry is more moderate than Caitlyn and Vi’s. Steb is not shown actively using his weapons, but they can be seen at the end of Arcane season 2, episode 1. Steb is shown standing to the right of the task force holding two side-gripped police batons, indicating that he, like Loris, is responsible for crowd control during the infiltration of Zaun. Like Maddie and Loris, questions remain about whether Steb will have further development in Arcane the final two acts of Season 2, as Caitlyn’s strike force takes on new tasks.
Set in the League of Legends universe, Arcane focuses on sisters Violet and Powder (later Jinx), who end up on opposite sides of a growing conflict between the wealthy utopia of Piltover and its dark underground city, whose citizens wish to break away from their oppressors. . Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell and Kevin Alejandro star in this animated adventure.
