One of the most iconic aspects of the characters in Dragon Ball: Spark! Zero it is their ability to transform or merge into stronger versions of themselves. Whether the fighter is transforming into a Super Saiyan or combining with another character to fuse into a new being, these moves give them a huge boost. If you choose the right characters, you’ll have access to these powerful maneuvers.

Various mergers and transformations into DB: Spark! Zero are presented in battle episodes based on the game’s plot. Along with the training, you can learn how to achieve a new form by experimenting with the move sets of different fighters. However, it is worth noting that selecting transformed versions of characters will prevent them from changing in different battles.

Along with iconic energy attacks, transformations depends on which character you are using. For example, Saiyans usually have a transformation, be it Goku’s Super Saiyan 3 form or Vegeta’s jump to Super Saiyan God. Whenever you look at the character select screen, it will display the fighter’s available transformations, if they have them.

When you engage in combat with a character who can transform, you need to develop the ability to change by gaining skill points.. This resource can be seen directly below the profile image of the fighter you control, in one of the upper corners of the screen. You should see a blue bar with a number that slowly increases as you attack your opponent and perform various moves.

When you get the number next to the blue meter, you can transform. Different transformations require different amounts of skill points.which makes it difficult to achieve some forms with this mechanic in DB: Spark! Zero. Ppressing the Up button on your controller’s D-Pad evokes a wheel of possible transformations your character can do this, the cost of their points is indicated next to the image icon on the form.

Some transformations can cost 3 skill points, forcing you to fight for a while to build up the right resource value. For example, Goku’s Super Saiyan form can be transformed if you only have 1 skill point, but transforming into Super Saiyan Blue costs 3. Once you have the necessary resources, click the corresponding button next to the transformation when you bring up the transformation wheel menu.

When you transform you access a new list of special attacks which may be very different from the form you were just in. It’s noteworthy that you no need to transform “to” take a certain shape. Whenever you receive the necessary resources to achieve a particular transformation, you can jump straight into it and enjoy the newfound power that comes with increasing the power of that form.

Merging is similar to converting to DB: Spark! Zerohuge list of characters, but only works when you have two team members who can team up. Not everyone can fuse with each other, as not every fighter in the series has a fusion form. While Goku and Vegeta can fuse into Vegito or Gogeta, other fighters like Frieza cannot fuse with other characters in your squad.

Here’s a short list of all the characters that can merge with each other in DB: Spark! Zero:

  • Goten + Baby trunks = Gotenks
  • Goku (End-Z) + Vegeta (End-Z0 = Gogeta or Vegito
  • Goku (GT) Super Saiyan 4 + Vegeta (GT) Super Saiyan 4 = Gogeta (GT) Super Saiyan 4
  • Goku (Super) or Vegeta (Super) = Gogeta or Vegito
  • Goku Black + Zamasu = Fused Zamasu
  • Cabbage + Cauliflower = Kefla

As with transformations, the character select screen is where you can tell when two fighters are fused with each other. During combat, you can pick up the same wheel you use to transform and press R1 or L1 on your controller raise the wheel for mergers. These also requires skill points to completeusually at a much higher price than some in-game conversions.

Some fusions have their own transformations, such as Gogeta having his Super Saiyan form. You can immediately fuse into a stronger fusion form if you have enough skill points, but it will always cost more. You may have to fight for a long time against a difficult opponent in DB: Spark! Zero to obtain the resources needed for such a powerful merger and transformation.

As you might expect, fusions have a completely different playstyle than individual characters. Fusion is an all-new fighter with unique attacks and special moves that you gain access to by merging characters. Those who transform or merge into Dragon Ball: Spark! Zero can gain incredible power to reach great heights and defeat enemies that would normally be difficult to defeat.
