Dragon Ball Daima just resolved (and fixed) the biggest problem with its plot

Dragon Ball DAIMA little by little it earned its place as one of the best series in the beloved franchise created by Akira Toriyama. Despite its strange premise, the series proved to be exactly what it needed, giving fans a fun story that enriched the series' history like never before. However, despite how amazing the series is, fans have noticed some inconsistencies in the plot.

One of those mistakes was Gomah's wish in episode 1, which turned Goku and his friends into children. Fans have wondered from the beginning why, if the Demon King was worried about the Z Fighters' strength, he didn't ask for them to die. Episode 11 not only resolved this issue, but also made it a vital part of the plot, a development that shocked more than one fan.

Neva's Reveal Solves Dragon Ball Daima's Major Plot Hole

The legendary Namekian tricked Gomah from the start

During episode 11 of Dragon Ball DAIMAthe heroes come across Neva, the Namekian responsible for turning them back into children at the beginning of the series. Although at first the elder tried to act like a senile old man, Piccolo quickly realized his act, taking the opportunity to interrogate him. Neva promptly confessed that he was in fact responsible for making them younger, as he had already predicted that this was the Demon King's wish.

When Piccolo asked what he would do if he was asked for a more sinister wish, the eldest replied that he had deceived Gomah to believe he had a lapse in judgment due to his senility and still turned them into children. Although not explicitly, what the Namekian warrior wanted to ask was whether Neva ever had any intention of harming the Z Fighters. The elder did not seem to pose a threat to the heroes of the time, as he even commented how surprised he was that they remained so strong even as children.

While this moment caused many other questions among fans, like what Neva's true purpose in the series could be, it helped resolve a huge plot hole. The elder's statement explained that Goku and his friends were not killed by Gomah mainly because the Demon King did not think about that possibility. Furthermore, even if he had tried to use Shenron to eliminate his enemies, Neva would have altered her desire to stop him from doing so.

Could the real villain be hiding in plain sight?

Neva is still hiding her true motives

Neva talks to the heroes about her mission in episode 11 of DAIMA.

Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 11 may have resolved one of the story's major problems, but it also made fans question why the series is heading in this direction. Neva being the main reason the heroes are still alive throughout the series is a revelation that seems out of place for the evil Namekian. When he was first introduced, the eldest appeared to be a malevolent and treacherous person, working with the Demon King without any concern. Despite claiming that he was trying to help the protagonists, his behavior seemed strangely cheerful for someone being forced to work for Gomah.

His behavior during the beginning of the last episode didn't help matters, as he seemed to only be interested in the Demon Realm Dragon Ball that Glorio was carrying. Even though it's still subtle, the series points to Neva still hiding what her true motives are for helping the heroes. The possibility of the older Namekian betraying Goku and his friends increases with every second he spends with them on this journey. Many fans had already speculated that Neva could be revealed as the series' final villaina theory that continues to gain traction.

Neva may be using Goku to collect the Dragon Balls

He could be looking for powerful warriors to defeat his creations

Goku faces Tamagami Number 3.

Another big revelation found in Dragon Ball DAIMA episode #11 was Neva being the creator of the powerful Tamagami. These powerful warriors act as protectors of the Demon Realm's Dragon Ball, preventing anyone from collecting the orbs and summoning the Eternal Dragon. Only the strongest characters in the series, like Goku or Vegeta, would be able to defeat these guardians, as their power is even greater than that of the Demon King. It may be possible that Neva, as a member of the Namekian Dragon clan, does not possess the physical strength necessary to defeat her creations.

As such, he would need to find warriors with enough power to defeat the Tamagami and recover the Dragon Balls. This desire to acquire the treasures of the Demon Realm could be the reason behind his strange behavior when approaching the heroes. Neva may be planning to wait until the Z Fighters collect the three Dragon Balls so he can make his still-unknown wish come true. His cunning plan could be the reason why he fervently insisted on accompanying the heroes to collect the other two orbs. Instead of helping the protagonists become adults again, Neva could steal their wish.

Dragon Ball DAIMAThe story proved to be full of twists and turns, keeping fans on the edge of their seats from the start. Neva's role in the story has a high possibility of shocking viewers once it is revealed later. Whether he's the series' final villain or not, it's clear he'll play an important role in the upcoming episodes.

Dragon Ball DAIMA is the fifth series overall in the action-adventure anime franchise. It features most of the classic cast members as aged versions of themselves, including Goku, Vegeta, and Bulma. The series was announced at NYCC 2023, with creator Akira Toriyama returning to manage DAIMA.
