Dragon Ball Daima confirms that Gohan’s true successor is a mysterious new hero who left us with many questions

Warning: Spoilers for Dragon Ball Daima, episode #4Dragon Ball DaimaGohan’s newest character took a page out of Gohan’s book, donning a superheroic disguise and fighting evil. However, this mysterious figure has left fans with many questions about who exactly she is and what led her to this path.

During the relatively peaceful period between Cell’s fall and Buu’s appearance, Gohan assumed a superhero identity as the Great Saiyaman, using his powers and abilities to fight crime while living his normal life as a high school student. The Great Saiyaman made an impact with his heroism, enough to attract Videl’s attention and make her start to question her identity. Although Great Saiyaman appears to have emerged as a result of Gohan’s boredom with a peaceful life, it appears that his Dragon Ball Daima counterpart is quite different in this respect.

The Masked Majin’s situation is completely different from Gohan’s

While Gohan primarily fought crime, the Masked Majin Daima has already distinguished itself by tackling a much bigger issue: the rule of a corrupt and unjust government. Faced with cruelty on a grand scale, the Masked Majin stepped up, prepared to face these far more powerful forces, adopting a superhero identity and striking from the shadows.. Although the Masked Majin was a bit unprepared to actually succeed in her mission alone, the fact that she had the moral courage to stand up against Gomah’s despotic rule already makes her an incredibly heroic figure.

The Masked Majin’s identity is still a mystery, as she only unmasked herself to Goku and friends at the end of the episode. Fans know from pre-release material that her name is Panzy (also the title of the next episode), but that’s all that is known about her at this point. Based on her appearance, she appears to be even younger than Gohan, and perhaps this youthful idealism was what led her to take action against Gomah. Gomah’s government has only been in place for a brief period at this stage, which likely means that the Masked Majin has also been in action for a short time.

Even knowing her identity as Panzy and that she has a big role to play in the future of Daimathere are still many questions waiting to be answered. Was the Masked Majin acting alone or perhaps she belonged to a larger Demon Realm resistance movement, working against Gomah? It certainly seems like she’s lacking allies, hence her willingness to expose her identity to Goku after he helped save her from Gomah’s henchmen.

There is also the question of what prompted Panzy to act in the first place. Panzy was likely directly affected by Gomah’s cruelty, making her feel as if she had no choice but to act alone. Hopefully the next episode will reveal the answers to some of these questions. But one thing is certain: Gohan would be proud to see someone following in his footsteps, facing evil even in a place as cruel as Dragon Ball DaimaDemon Realm.
