There are six factions to join Dragon Age: The Veil Guardand the choice is made during character creation, making it part of Rook’s overall story. Some of these include long-standing organizations in the Dragon Age franchise, such as Gray Wardens and Antivan Crows. Others are from expanded media, like books and comics, and are debuting in a full game. This gives Rook an expanded perspective that may have been absent from past heroes like the Herald of Andraste and the Champion of Kirkwall.
Choosing a faction changes the starting segments of the Dragon Age: The Veil Guard. This gives you an advantage with the faction, introduces you to a specific companion sooner, and favors a class specialization. It might be a good idea to combine a faction with one of the three classes. However, choosing a faction does not lock resources. This simply gives you a head start and can avoid damaging some aspects of reputation, levels, or perhaps even make it easier to date a like-minded ally.

Gray Wardens Faction Powers
The Gray Wardens have existed since the first title, Dragon Age Origins. They are completely dedicated to fighting Darkspawn, even if it is through controversial methods. Although the Gray Wardens have all classes in their ranks, they strongly favor a warrior’s hand-to-hand combat. In terms of story, Rook disobeyed a direct order which saved many innocent lives. This makes him a hero to the people, but distrustful of the higher command.
