Dragon Age: The Veil Guard It is home to several chests, with each region having around 20 to 30 chests each. Minrathous Dock Town has one of the hardest chests to unlock, which can be found in Wharf Crossing South. To solve this puzzle and open the chest, players will need to have already recruited Taash.
You’ll spend a lot of time in Dock Town, even if you don’t decide to help Minrathous at the beginning of the game. There are plenty of chests for you to find, with two to find in the Wharf Crossing section of the map. After getting Taash, go to the southernmost Beacon in Dock Town to find this puzzle.
South Gate Wharf Crossing Puzzle Solution
Use Taash to blow up some Gaatlock, then open the gates in order
To open the gate between you and the chest, you’ll need to start using Taash to blow up the Gaatlock barrels to the right of the gate. The hole the explosion creates will reveal a round pulley-like accessory that you can interact with using the Illyrium Dagger to channel Snow’s useful freezing ability. Before doing this, go to the lever on the right side of the gate and pull it, then use “RB” or equivalent to freeze the pulley.
After freezing the first pulley, go to the right of the room where the chest is and find another hole in the wall. Using the “RB or R1“Menu and the freezing ability, freeze the pulley through this wall.
Once the second pulley is frozen, you can run back to the gate and pull the lever on the left. By freezing both pulleys, you prevented the gate from closing once it was opened. You will be able to enter the room and loot the chest, along with other things, once the main gate is fully raised.
Reward for solving the South Gate Wharf crossing puzzle
Gather a weapon upgrade, some materials, and more
Like all non-exclusive chests in Veilguard, the rewards you’ll receive from opening the chest south of Wharf Crossing are a little underwhelming. You are going to be rewarded with some gold, materials and salable items, as always. For the main item, I received an upgrade to the Snow staff, but this may change depending on what you have equipped.
THE non-unique chests often offer relatively underwhelming rewards despite being locked behind puzzleslike those in the braziers of Costa Rivain. For puzzle enthusiasts, solving them is reward enough, but for the more loot-hungry Rook, this can be a bit tragic. Either way, there are still tons of great weapons, armor, and accessories to be found throughout the world. Dragon Age: The Veil Guardso keep opening the chests you find.
