Dragon Age: The Veilguard – How to increase maximum HP

There are three classes in Dragon Age: The Veil Guardand despite the differences between them, they have one thing in common: no matter who you choose, you won’t start with much HP. Each class has different armor and defense numbers, but despite this, you will probably need more health sooner or later. If you find yourself in this position when the game launches in your region, you’re in luck as there are a few ways to make it happen.

Before you spend all your time increasing your HP, watch how you’re playing. If you are familiar with Elden Ringyou’ll know HP doesn’t matter if you don’t get hit. Play carefully to manage the little HP you start withand although combat may take longer, you should be able to avoid as much damage. If you’re frustrated with your health level and can’t seem to avoid the hits, this is where you should start.

How to Find Evanuris Altars to Increase Max HP

It’s time for a treasure hunt

An Evanuris Altar from Dragon Age The Veilguard

The method that offers the most HP at once is Evanuris Altars. These are large, glowing statues that can be found hidden in various places on the map, but they don’t appear on the map until you get close. This means you’ll need to explore a bit, but each statue will net you +100 HP.

You can tell if you’ve missed an Evanuris Altar in a region by checking the counter in the top left corner of your map that indicates how much of an area you’ve explored.

To use these statues, you will need to interact with them once you find them. Some glowing, floating triangles will appear nearby and reward you with your HP after breaking them all. These statues are relatively few and far between, so they’re more of a happy accident than something you should worry about hunting down right away. There are two hidden corners of Arlathan Forest and more at various locations along Arlathan’s wondrous journey. Guard of the Veil.

Other Ways to Increase Max HP

Ah, shopkeeper! Bring me my health, please!

Dragon's Bounty in a shop in Dragon Age The Veilguard

Another way to increase your maximum HP, albeit in a much less interesting way, is to buy Dragon’s Bounty from merchants. Each one will increase your HP by +25, so it will take a few of them to match the efficiency of the Evanuris Altars. However, with a good number of shops populating the landscape, you’ll be able to build up a large reservoir of health if you buy all the ones you find.

Each Dragon’s Bounty costs 375 gold, but not all merchants will sell it. Just as not every merchant wants to buy old items that you bring, they are also picky about their products. The best way to earn gold in this game is to sell various items to merchants who are interested in them, so exploring as many stores as possible is doubly advantageous. Take time to check out every store you come across, but don’t be surprised if not all of them stock your Dragon’s Bounty.

Between these two methods, you shouldn’t have much trouble increasing your maximum hit points in your chosen class in Dragon Age: The Veil Guard. As with any RPG, HP is only a problem if you get hit often, but no player is perfect, so having a little extra health in the bar is always a good idea, just in case. Whether you are a Dragon Age Professional or new to the series, there’s no shame in hunting down HP as you work to upgrade your defense and whatever armor set you choose.
