The main story of Dragon Age: The Veil Guard sees Rook and a team of heroes, researchers, and Veil experts trying to understand and ultimately confront the plans of the ancient elven wizard Solas and the vengeful gods he accidentally unleashed upon the world. The plot takes them through different regions of Thedas, where they work with different factions to fulfill objectives related to their main mission.
Each of the following missions represents a stage in that story, whether it’s a massive, pivotal event that moves everything forward quickly, or a brief side conversation that takes place between two larger threads. Each of these quests naturally leads to the next. note that several of these missions are points of no return for the regions in which they take placewith the endpoint of no return being “When plans align.” The game warns players which missions are time-limited, but not which ones will prevent them from accessing certain side content. As a result, for those interested in seeing as much of the game as possible, it’s best to prioritize completing missions secondary.

Getting to know you
Most of the time players spend outside of the main quest in Dragon Age: The Veil Guard will be spent with companions, each of whom has a series of side quests that develop its plot. Rook will grow closer to his companions throughout these missions, eventually earning the opportunity to romance them at the end of the chain. Note that almost all supplementary missions have an unlock condition, becoming available only after a certain story mission and, in some cases, becoming unavailable after another. Companion quests are broadly divided into conversations, walks, and others. Conversations are simply brief dialogue scenes that can occur almost anywhere. Tours are dialogue scenes accompanied by exploration of a specific area relevant to the quest; there is usually no combat involved. Other side quests may involve exploring larger areas with a specific objective in mind, which may include some combat encounters. note that many of these supplementary missions become unavailable after “The Siege of Weisshaupt” and “A director’s best friend“, and many are unlocked after”Fire and Ice.”

The party will leave each region during a specific main quest, after which all side quests will become unavailable.
