Slow Poison is a side quest in Dragon Age: The Veil Guard this gives more insight into how The Butcher views the people of Treviso. It also gives a hint or two about the mystery surrounding Antaam’s invasion. The Antivan Crows, known for their espionage and intelligence gathering, suspect a traitor within the city walls, aiding the Antaam in their rapid takeover. The player character, alongside his companions, is tasked by the Crows with uncovering the truth.
Companions don’t make much difference in this general aspect, except Lucanis, a romantic companion. Lucanis has the spells that the boss of this quest is weak to. This will make a semi-unfair fight much easier, so be sure to take Lucanis. The mission involves surprisingly few fights, and since the only difficult fight takes place in a cramped room with a high-damage boss, bringing lots of health items is also a good idea. Make sure to follow your quest markers during this quest because it’s a lot of running.
How to find and start a slow poison quest
Find out what the bad guy wants to do
A Slow Poison mission in Dragon Age: The Veil Guard becomes available after you rescue Lucanis during the story mission, Sea of Blood. After completing this mission, return to Treviso and visit the Antivan Crows hideout in the city’s Central neighborhood. Talk to Teia and Viagothe leaders of the Crows, and they will tell you about a missing scout, Dareth, who has been tasked with investigating a potential traitor within the walls of Treviso. They will ask for your help to find Dareth and uncover the truth behind the city’s rapid fall to the Antaam invaders.
It doesn’t really matter what you say to the Crow leaders; you’ll end up doing the quest anyway. You will need to follow the quest marker to the Drowned District, located on the south side of Treviso. Use the ziplines for a quick way to get through, but the quest marker will eventually take you to a warehouse near the water where you will meet Jacobus, Dareth’s cousin. Jacob is being held captive by the Antaam. You’ll need to defeat the Antaam guards to free Jacobus before learning more about Dareth.
Where to find Dareth’s contract
Finding Dareth
Jacob will be freed once you defeat the Antaam guards in Dragon Age: The Veil Guard. Once Jacobus is freed, he will tell you that Antaam killed his cousin, Dareth. He will also ask you to find Dareth’s last contract by finding the dead center of the contract. You will need follow the purple crow graffiti on the walls to find the dead spot or just follow the quest marker. Both will lead you to a penthouse room with a broken window. The dead drop is located on a table in the corner of this room. The contract is to eliminate the Qamekmaster, who is making a poison that the Butcher intends to use against the people of Treviso.
The contract also provides some information about the location of the Qamekmaster. Mentions a garrison controlled by Antaam where Qamekmaster is believed to be working. The contract recommends using the roofs to reach the Garrison, located in the north of the city. This tells the player that he must use the ziplines to travel to this area.
How to find the trim
Infiltrate the garrison
Arriving at the Garrison in Dragon Age: The Veil Guard means passing through a series of rooftops and ziplines. When you get the contract, jump out the window on the opposite side from where you entered. Continue following the quest marker to a series of rooftops. Every time you zipline from one rooftop to another, a white marker will appear where the next zip line and. Most of them are close enough that it only takes a few seconds of running to find them.
You’re in no rush, so don’t rush the ziplines as they take a second or two to get ready. You will fall frequently if you try to jump on any zip lines before the game has time to indicate that you can jump on it.
Although the game recommends not getting caught, it doesn’t really mean anything. The only way to see soldiers is to start straying from the mission marker, which leads to an easy fight. It turns out that ziplines are the quickest and most efficient way to get to the Garrison. It will take about three times via ziplines from neutral to reach the Garrison itself. After opening the Garrison doors, you will immediately start a fight with some soldiers. Follow the path from there to reach the Qamekmaster.
Best way to fight Qamekmaster
Best strategy for this boss
The Qamekmaster, a grotesquely corrupted elf who looks more like an Orc from Dragon Age 2 and Origins, is a pretty tough fight. This boss can essentially reduce your health to a quarter with a single hit in Dragon Age: The Veil Guard. The most important thing to do is keep your distance if possible. The Qamekmaster’s attacks are a mix of close-range strikes, a jumping attack leaving a persistent explosive sigil, a charge attack, and a damaging AoE blood blast. Dodge is essentialespecially for its unblockable attacks.
This fight is all about patience because he is too strong in a blow for blow fight. Feel free to use potions and any healing items because if you neglect them you could end up getting beaten up with a bag full of HP refills. The Qamekmaster is resistant to lightning, but weak to necrotic damage. Lucanis, with his necrotic abilities, is invaluable here. Like bosses in any other game, the smartest way to fight Qamekmaster is to wait for him to try to hit you, dodge, and then attack him.
Rewards for completing a Slow Poison quest
Completing the mission
Once Qamekmaster is defeated in Dragon Age: The Veil Guardgo back to the crows. They will talk to the governor about the current situation. Nothing you say will really affects this conversation or the reward, then be as open as you want. The reward for the quest A Slow Poison is 750 XP, which doesn’t seem worth all the effort it takes to get past the boss, but the strength reward is worth it. The mission significantly increases the Antivan Crows’ Strength, specifically 250 points. The video above Ghosts of Reykjavik It should help players if they are having difficulty at any point in the mission, but thanks to the mission marker, it’s difficult to get lost.
There will also be a greater bond with all the companions you bring. You have to do the quest anyway because it helps you learn more about the Butcher and hurt his cause, so you won’t lose any companion bonds by doing this. Your companions don’t offer much insight here, so you won’t miss out either if you decide not to bring a specific companion. To bringhaving a companion whose bond you want to develop is a good idea. Either way, you’re officially done with A Slow Poison in Dragon Age: The Veil Guard.
