Doomsday Return Connects to a Groundbreaking MCU Theory

Chris Evans is back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the star Avengers: Judgment Day return strikes me as the latest sign that previous reports of major changes to the franchise are accurate. Evans' Captain America is my favorite MCU hero, and before he brought Steve Rogers to life, I had already enjoyed his portrayal of Johnny Storm in two Fantastic Four films. After Avengers: EndgameI remained hopeful that future MCU films would feature the star's return. Fortunately, this happened sooner than I expected, with Evans playing the Human Torch again in this year's film Deadpool and Wolverine.

It was recently revealed that Chris Evans will star Avengers: Judgment Daymarking his return to Marvel's biggest franchise. The news surprised me, as I was only hoping that the Multiverse Saga would bring Evans back to Avengers: Secret Warsnot the next Avengers movie. Avengers: Judgment Daythe cast too features Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doomand I'm starting to think that his returns to the franchise, as well as some other recent developments at Marvel Studios, could lead to a major Avengers movie theory proving accurate in a few years.

Chris Evans' Avengers 5 Role Adds to Marvel Actor's Return

Evans did a great job as the Human Torch in Deadpool and Wolverine. The actor's role is one of the most talked about aspects of the film, with the R-rated nature of the third Deadpool film allowing Evans to really let loose in a way he's never done before as Johnny Storm or Captain America. For now, Chris Evans' role in Avengers: Judgment Day remains a mystery. Previously, Evans commented on returning as Captain America, indicating that the character was special to him and that he feared ruining the perfect ending that Steve Rogers achieved. Still, even if he's not the Captain, Evans is Avengers: Judgment Day.

A pattern formed at Marvel during the Multiverse Sagaand I see the return of Evans' Avengers as his latest addition. With the help of the multiverse as a plot device, the MCU has brought back actors who left the franchise, such as Evans and Robert Downey Jr., and several stars from Fox's X-Men films. Some of the names in the mutant franchise include Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. Based on how the next Avengers are shaping up, I believe even more Marvel actors will return in them.

The Mutant Team Has an MCU Movie in Development

The pattern of Marvel actors returning to star in MCU projects has been interesting featured some X-Men stars. Actors from Fox's original X-Men franchise and the Deadpool films returned in their roles, while Evan Peters, who played Quicksilver in the young X-Men timeline, joined the MCU as a fake Quicksilver, later revealed to be Ralph. Bohner. I liked all of the returning X-Men stars and still want to see many more appear, like Michael Fassbender's Magneto and James McAvoy's Charles Xavier. Fortunately, a recent update makes it seem like this could happen.

Recently, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige commented on the MCU's X-Men. Feige talked about how Avengers: Secret Wars will lead to the reboot of the X-Men in the MCU. While that was exciting, I discovered something else that he said was even more so. According to Feige, X-Men Players That Fans May Recognize Will Appear in the MCU”upcoming movies.” The wondersThe post-credits scene showed what appears to be a variant of Kelsey Grammer's Beast in a new X-Men universe. I believe Marvel will have this universe as part of a foray with the MCU, so Fox's X-Men will return.

I believe the report of an MCU reboot is accurate after recent updates

A new era for Marvel could be on the way

RObert Downey Jr as Iron Man and Chris Evans as Captain America

In October 2023, a Avengers: Secret Wars report stated that the MCU would be rebooted after the film. The information came from MCU: Reign of Marvel Studios author Joanna Robinson, who said the book featured a quote from Kevin Feige implying that “Secret Wars will serve as a soft reboot for the franchise. I always thought this made sense, as the comic book event that serves as the source material for the film also did the same, changing things throughout the Marvel universe, like bringing Miles Morales into the main universe.

Following the MCU returns of Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., as well as the return of X-Men franchise actors and Feige teasing that even more will appear in upcoming MCU films, it looks like a reboot is indeed coming. All of these developments make it seem like Marvel Studios is using the Multiverse Saga as a way to fire beloved actors who have played heroes and villains over the past two decades. Avengers: Secret Wars could then restart the MCU and define new actors as main characters. These plans could be clearer if Avengers: Judgment Day.

Avengers: Doomsday is the fifth Avengers film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will bring together heroes, new and old, to face Victor von Doom – played by the returned Robert DOwney Jr.. Avengers 5 will also mark the beginning of phase 6 of the MCU.
