    As you get closer to the end Doki Doki Plus Literature Club, Monika will begin to show some of her true intentions, leading you to the option to exclude her from the game entirely. However, depending on whether you are on a console or PC, the method for completing this task will differ.

    ***Warning: This article contains spoilers from the end of Doki Doki Literature Club Plus!***

    As you progress, you may have noticed that the other girls seem to be slowly disappearing as options for you to pursue, leaving you with just Monika. Once this is revealed to be Monika’s work, you will have the option to delete her from the game, which results in the final ending you will receive.

    Deleting Monika on PC, especially through Steam, is quite simple. After going through the process of creating a perfect poem for Monika and getting to the scene where you have the option to delete her, just save and exit the game.

    For Steam players, all you need to do here is right-click on the Doki Doki Plus Literature Club! icon in your Steam library. Then hover over the Manage option and select Browse local files, opening the Characters folder. The only file in this folder should be Monika. Delete Monika’s file directly or simply drag it to the trash.

    If you’re not using Steam, this should still be a fairly similar process. Search for the game wherever it is on your computerRight-click and follow the previous steps to get to the Characters folder and delete Monika from it. This should work whether the player is using a Microsoft, Mac, or Linux computer.

    With the addition of Doki Doki Plus Literature Club On consoles, some of the features in this PC-designed game have been forced to receive some tweaks. This is mainly because this game requires interaction with the actual PC files as part of the story. To replace this, in the console version, players get their own fake desktop home screen for DDLC+, which they return to within the game.

    This newly added desktop has several interesting functions, including music and game concept art. In this fake desktop, players should be able to delete Monika from the game. Save and close the game menu to access the fake desktop. From here, go to the files section and select the Characters folder.

    Again, Monika should be the only file available, so delete her file and reopen the game on the fake desktop. The delete button is different on each system: X for Nintendo, triangle for PlayStation and Y for Xbox. Once she leaves, you will be able to receive one of the Doki Doki Literature Club Plus endings, the true ending.

    Note that you have the option to take care of Monika at the beginning of the game, but this will result in a different ending, as will not taking her out. Therefore, you will want to decide wisely, based on which Doki Doki Plus Literature Club! ending you expect.
