The new Doctor Who The Season 15 trailer teases the continuation of the Toymaker storyline that has been a major part of Russell T. Davies' return as showrunner. When showrunner Russell T. Davies returned to helm a new (Disney-funded) era of Doctor Whofew expected the show to have a clear narrative line. But Davies soon revealed that he planned to change things, with the 60th anniversary specials reintroducing the Toymaker, a divine being from outside the universe itself.
Toymaker was just the beginning. The Doctor accidentally paved the way for mystical and divine beings to enter the universe and wreak havoc, and the Fifteenth Doctor of Ncuti Gatwa faced dangerous creatures like the Maestro and Sutekh. It was clear that the rules of the show had changed, and there were even hints that UNIT – the Doctor's Earth-bound allies – are now concerned with the supernatural as much as they are with aliens. THE Doctor Who The season 15 trailer promises that it will continue.
Expect to see more out-of-universe beings in Doctor Who season 15
THE Doctor Who The season 15 trailer begins with chilling dialogue in which the Doctor talks about beings of phenomenal power from outside the universe, who see mortals as nothing more than pawns in their games. This is the perfect description of the Toymaker and his allies, and promises a direct continuation of this narrative arc. Davies is essentially creating (or, perhaps, recreating) a pantheon of beings for the Doctor to defeat.
But what specific “gods” will the Doctor face in season 15? Each of these monstrous beings has a different nature. Gatwa's lines suggest that he is quite similar to the Toymaker, a divine creature who likes to play. As seen in “The Giggle,” the Doctor only has one way to defeat such an enemy – by literally beating him at his own game.

Will Doctor Who also continue the theme of the timeless child?
The interesting question, however, is whether this will lead to new revelations in the mystery of the Timeless Child. Chris Chibnall's time as showrunner saw the show's lore turn in a surprising direction, with the revelation that the Doctor is not a Time Lord; they are truly the Timeless Child, a being from outside this universe whose genetic code was mapped and mirrored by the Time Lords. So far, Davies has focused on the emotional repercussions of this revelation; but Will this change, with the Doctor's extra-universal origins revealed?
Some have even speculated that the Doctor himself is a member of the pantheon, the God of Life – explaining why he acts as the champion of time and life. This is just a theory, but the hint that Doctor Who season 15 continuing this arc seems to make it all even more likely. Davies' first attempt had him presenting the Doctor as a messianic figure, so this possibility really can't be ruled out.
