In the story, Doom both perceives and knows about Blood, while recognizing that the villain was hiding his presence. As far as one can tell, both Doom and Blood seem to have foreknowledge of what is happening. Secret war. Of course, Marvel fans are more than familiar with retcons, reveals, and reimaginings of continuity as they know it. Still, adding an entirely new character to a Marvel crossover is a bold creative move, even though it’s what writer Al Ewing is best known for. The title of his story is Spider-Man: Black Suit and Blood No. 3, “What happened to Master Blood?” makes it clear that the character’s absence from Marvel history up to this point will form the core of the story.
