This is set to continue next year, with Demona getting her own series. Already Gargoyles there were some comic book spin-offs, expanding the lore of the world and characters. Demona’s thirst for revenge has long been contrasted with Goliath’s compassion. Both are leaders in their own right, but their methods and motivations differentiate them significantly. While Goliath sees himself primarily as a protector, Demona is more of a destroyer. He always looks out for the good of his clan, while she continually looks out for herself and her desires. The synopsis for this series mentions her “tragic story,” implying that it could show us more of the time she was alone, leading her to believe that she was the only survivor of her clan for so long.
Gargoyles finally tells the story of its best villain
Gargoyles has long been a fan-favorite and era-defining animated series. Its expansion into comics not only extended the story, but allowed it to thrive in a new medium. Previous comic book issues have already been successfully crowdfunded to be collected in printed volumes, bringing back issues that have long been out of print.
